Two days ago, I called BMWNA Customer4 Relations (after 1 hr 40 min wait). I talked to a person Jessica. I explained my being in QC since Nov 9, and she genuinely acted like, "That's incredible, and completely unacceptable!" as if she has never heard of this before. She said she'll assign a case manager, who will call me back within 24 hours. Well, 2 days later, Sean (or Shawn) called me back to say mine is on hold for a RAM Module (whatever that is) and that he was told by BMG AG that as parts come in, they are applied to oldest on list and all of October should be done. I said, "I don't doubt that is what you were told, but, if that was the case, you are being lied to." I explained being on this forum and cited numerous examples of cars with later QC dates in Nov, Dec, and Jan, and they are moved out. He explained that depending on the part, there may be another delay at German or US port, awaiting the part. So... no real news.
In the meantime, my trade has lost value, I've lost 0.0% financing, and my car is getting closer to 2023. They just don't care.

For those who have given up and those who are considering it, any thoughts on how to get back a non refundable deposit?

I had this discussion about my non-refundable deposit with the Sales Manager at my dealer. He said he would simply return it and acknowledged they would likely sell the car for over MSRP. I respected his honesty as most of us have assumed if we cancel that it may just benefit the dealer if you purchased at or below MSRP.

Any of us cancelling the order is the ideal situation for the dealer. As you state, they will just mark up the car and sell it instantly, unless the delays continue for long enough for the supply chain / demand to correct itself - which is somewhat possible given how long they are willing to let cars sit in QC.

So you're saying if I want to "Stick it" to my Dealer I need to stay the course... Yeah - I like that to fuel my quiet patience.

Having now been "at the port" for almost 2 weeks (and reading about others being at the port for 6 weeks), I'm convinced I'm really still just stuck in QC and the bump to "at the port" is nothing but a sham to give me the false impression that things are moving along. That thing is nothing more than a glorified Domino's pizza tracker anyhow.

Yes mate ,I'm in South Africa and the car has been stuck since Nov 11 and I was also told that it's the RAM Audio Module that's the delay…. this is beyond pathetic!

I assume next steps will be that BMW ships the car to the US and then sends it to a VPC/VDC before sending it to the PCD in Spartanburg. CAs can't schedule PCDs until the car clears the VPC now. Depending on the shipping delay, RAM delay, and scheduling delay, this has a chance to hit a full 1 year cycle from the time of allocation to delivery.

These time frames sound reasonable. My car was at the port for over three weeks back in October. I don't think the backlog has gotten any better.

After 94 in QC, my G83 is FINALLY "Awaiting Carrier Assignment." Who knows how long I'll be there, but at least I am finally out of QC.

For those of us who previously made it out of purgatory it seems to take roughly 5-7 days to go from Awaiting Carrier Assignment to At the Port. Then the potentially long wait for a ship begins (I made it out of QC on 1/21 and been at port since 1/26).

After 96 days, I also finally made it out of QC and I am "Awaiting Carrier Assignment".

The only problem is that my two recall/stop sales are still open (RAM and Amp). So I have no idea how to interpret that.

I am the same was was out of QC two weeks ago with the ram stop sale still open. I am assuming it wasn't fixed this whole time and we would have to wait at the VPC once shipped to be fixed there. The entire reason we were in QC for so long was for the display unit.
