M3 slated to be here in July!!
Finally! After talking to Day Laborer he put me through to a local person here in VA who has got me an allocation and production # that I have entered into bmwusa.com so I can track the status!
Pretty excited and wanted to give a big thanks to Day Laborer once again. Loving the community! Last edited by jdub000; 03-11-2024 at 12:21 PM.. Reason: Delete |

Welcome and congrats! Honestly, the car doesn't need anything right off the bat. Except maybe lower ride height in the front. I don't drive my car enough to warrant PPF or ceramic but some people feel like it's a requirement.
BTW we have an amazing BMW shop not far from us: Speed & Tech Motoring, Luc@Speed&Tech. That's the ONLY place I'll take my car for aftermarket stuff. |

1. Frontal PPF if you DD and a tint. 2. EL Midpipe + Valve Controller will give you a much improved sound and valve customization. 3. Better brake pads for less dust/squeal. You'll quickly realize that it's impossible to keep your wheels clean and not sound like a garbage truck when stopping (unless you got CCB's). 4. Various cosmetics (front grill and air inlets are a must for me). I haven't touched the suspension or wheels, but I know that's a big thing for a lot of folks. The stock suspension is like a monster truck, but I have a super steep garage so I'm keeping mine as is until I move.

I also worked with Day Labor to get mine a few years back. BLUF; I had an allocation 3 days later for the exact spec coming over in a boat.
In terms of mods, a large majority of us go to Speed & Tech as mentioned. Outside of the required break in service, I take my car to Speed & Tech for oil and other items too. I don't need the deal causing me any issues. Welcome!

Congrats from Richmond! Took delivery of mine in February and just dropped off for break-in service today. Feel like I'm finally about to ACTUALLY take delivery now that I'll be able to really drive the car.
The only mods I have done so far are: - Full PPF and ceramic exterior and interior - Ceramic tint all around including windshield (I finally have my registration and inspection straight with the windshield but it was a bitch so I wouldn't say it's a must, but it is nice) - Oil cooler stainless steel mesh guard. I drove a M340i before this and hit one of our many massive potholes here in Richmond, didn't think twice about it, drove home and the following morning my car was sitting in a pool of oil. Pothole put a huge hole in the exposed oil cooler that's directly behind the bumper. I was turning that lease in soon after and insurance covered the repair (and there was no noticeable damage to the engine) but seeing how I bought this one, I am not taking that risk again. A $150-200 part is well worth the piece of mind. What I want to do: - Something to exhaust, probably mid with valve controller - Lower front ride height a little so wheel gaps match with back - Possibly a front lip; there are a lot of them that look awesome especially with the CF exterior package Speaking of the CF exterior package, if you didn't do that I would definitely recommend getting aftermarket inlets. IMO it improves on the already striking front end 10x. Looking at my car with the CF exterior inlets, I can't help but feel like the G8xs with the black hexagon mesh instead look so much worse in comparison.
