Yes, I’m attending ax on the 30th and there should be another G80 there. I drive a G82. Hope you can make it out, it’s a blast.
I read your other post from the benches. I joined the NCC BMW CCA soon after i bought my 435i back in 2015 and have been a pretty active member ever since. I’m a regular at ax and at the DIY sessions (with my E46) and attend the monthly social, attend the M driving school in SC, and do some of the driving tours. IMO, those events are a great way to enjoy your car and meet a lot of great, like minded, people. |

Superb!
Looking forward to meeting you on the 30th. I only signed up for the afternoon session, but I will try to get to the event mid morning to watch the earlier runs. I have a lot to learn, and I would appreciate all guidance. Cheer!

Karting was tremendously fun. It was a beautiful day, 15 participants and good karts.
The track layout is very challenging with many different types of turns and elevation changes. There are many details to learn in terms of the track's best lines, keeping the momentum was certainly key to fast laps. We had a practice session, then a qualifying one, and finally the race session, so plenty of seat time. Our bodies were really sore the next days. It took the tires about 2 laps to warm up during the first practice session. Until they came to temp, the karts were prone to oversteer, which tells you the power levels the karts have. The brakes were really superb, there was a lot of room for modulation. Some turns were really fun to rotate the kart on the brakes, and some turns on the throttle; they were very playful, although probably not the best way to go fast. My son and I came in 3rd and 2nd to last , 3.5 secs off leaders' pace. We had so much fun, we did not care much. The regular participants all were very helpful welcoming us and giving us tips. Money and time well spent for a wonderful son/father day. We'll be going back for sure.

I'm going to try and make this one. It'll be my first ax and first time doing racing of any kind in quite a while.
