Do Driver and Passenger Sides Valve Open equally

I just had my full Valvetronic exhaust installed and I have not installed the valve controller yet.

I did notice that when I go into M2 only the driver side flap opens up partially and the passenger side stays closed. Are both side supposed to operate equally (both close and open together)?

They should be in unison, unless something I’m not aware of is up. What happens when you flip the exhaust sound profile to open valves?

Perhaps the right valve is stuck? They definitely open together.

Should open evenly, take off the actuator and move the mechanism by hands if you feel any tension get a lubricant that won’t rust and apply it then re install the actuator and test again.

Thanks for confirming that they should both me operating together (which I expected). I will get under the car and remove the actuator a check if there is any binding.

Are you using their valve controller? Other than taking some time to get the tips aligned, my installer said the install was pretty straightforward.

Sounds like some bullshit exhaust if both valves don’t open identically. 🙄

Is the flap inside fully open or still partially closed? It should have 90 degrees of movement.

if it's installed correctly and not defective, it should open equally

Update: after unbolting and unplugging the oem valve actuator, I plugged it back it and it is now operating properly.

I double checked to make sure the valve springs were seated properly with lots of tension and no valve rattle etc.

Since you just looked at this, which springs did you end up using? Is it the BMW style c-clips or the helical style provided by valvetronic? After switching my system back to the oem actuator, with sst valve controller, I haven’t been able to remove the rattle on my driver’s side valve. Thanks for any help.

I used the helical style that Valvetronic provided. I did use some pliers and pulled them open a bit more so that I could increase the tension and make sure there were no rattles.
