Huh? I grew up in a house with 2 working parents in business, one owning a business and knowing how to do their job properly and interact with customers. I also run one myself. Probably like a lot of people here.

Know your craft, communicate and keep your word. It's pretty simple, if not easy. It has nothing to do with first world anything. Could as easily have been a Hyundai or Ferrari dealer.

The weird sanctimony that gets perfused through this forum sometimes is so cringey.

She looks beautiful! I personally have been debating on whether or not I'd like to stealth PPF my upcoming G80, but I'm leaning towards against it - paints like Grigio Telesto look amazing without the matte finish and really pop no matter the environment/lighting conditions - absolute no brainer for me if I were you. My Dakar Yellow is a flat finish so there's an argument to be made there, but definitely not Grigio IMO. Keep it normal PPF and enjoy the beauty of it

The dealership nightmare is an unfortunate thing that many have to deal with. It feels like CA's are becoming less capable in their craft and just about any monkey can become one.. luck of the draw I guess. It doesn't help that CA's aren't really working hard these days since cars are selling themselves pretty easily, vs. only a year or so ago where CA's were fighting for sales and being aggressive while looking out for their customer since they're looking for repeated business.

Regardless - enjoy it in good health!

However - a great point you made, one that just amazes me to no end. How do you work in sales in a BMW dealership - or, not sales and BMW in general- and not follow Bimmerpost? Wtf. Seriously. You call yourself a professional? Not a chance.

Enjoy the car.
Oh save it. First world problems are still problems. This is a six figure car. Have a higher standard for yourself and for those around you. If there were less people like you around maybe the rest of us wouldn't jerked around by dealerships so much.

I'm beginning to think so... It's darker, and they're both non-metallic right? Any other way you'd characterize the difference? Ready for the cleaned up pics.

Gorgeous color. I'm a huge fan of Dravit, but that's a step above. Will definitely remember it for another time.

Enjoy in good health.

Grigio is much darker. It also has silver metallic flakes in it I believe.

Build sheet says that GT is metallic.

OP - sorry about your dealer experience, but at least you have a great detailer. Which is probably more important in the end. Awesome build.

It's metallic and has got pearl as well. So, the shades of grey vary depending on the lighting. This paint is often referred to as 50 shades of grey. 😉

Nice garage. I spy a Red NSX, a Yellow Integra Type R, a first gen Red MR2, maybe a Suzuki Jimmy?, E30 320i, E92 Lime Rock Edition?

Whoopsie, I side tracked there. That's a nice lookin' M4.

BTW, loved this comment "clueless dipshit of a CA/dealer combo"

Sorry to hear about your dealership experience. I can feel your anguish! I don’t see the CAs or dealerships getting any better so perhaps it will just have to come down to lowering expectations… shame, really

Anyway the car looks fantastic! Love the color combo, it will stay classy for decades to come.

Literally only started it to get it on the detailer's truck and off to get PPF, ceramic and tint. I'm still torn between stealth PPF or clear; my outgoing F-Type had stealth and I loved it. It's bittersweet, as I loved that car and there are certain things that this car just cannot replace, but 'onward and upward' as it were. I don't 'mod' cars so aside from maybe an upgrade to the police countermeasures to a full ALP system, the exterior protection stuff and tint is about all I'll do. I'll get a winter wheel/tire package, but I lost the tire lottery so I'll rip through these P-Zeros ASAP.

It was a dumpster fire off the rip with the dealer. New Country BMW in Hartford CT is an embarrassment start to finish. Disorganized, clueless to the whole process, zero communication. From arguing about VIN etch and unitemized "fees" (nitrogen in the tires, lol), to hounding them to get shit in writing, to a general lack of communication, it was a trip, for sure. At no point during the long delays at any stage did they have any info more than Genius, let alone this forum, which should be standard reading for anyone working at a dealer. From patronizing nonsense like "It's just about to get on the boat to make it's way over" (15 days into a 30 day stint in QC), to not knowing anything about the stop sales, it was a comedy of failures.

The car came Saturday and I wanted to stop by and see it, CA says "I'll ask my GSM if it's here"... then couldn't even text me back. The place is the size of my kitchen and you have virtually no inventory...you don't know/can't check if a truck dropped off your customer's car? Found out it was there from another CA randomly through a buddy. I told the CA probably 4-5 times to not remove any of the shipping plastics, and of course they did. The car is a complete mess. Hand prints in dirt on it, etc.

It's actually the second time I ordered an individual car from them...the first deal fell through because they played stupid games with my trade, back in 2017. That was serendipitous, as that's how I ended up with the F-Type. This time I didn't even plan on bothering with the trade...especially after the CA said trade equity had to be applied in full to the new car purchase...which, surprise! He was wrong. I gave them a shot at the appraisal while I already had an offer from another dealer, and all the car buying serivces. I had the MMR report in hand, too. The clown used car manager came up $5k short of another franchised dealer 3 minutes up the road...including the sales tax credit I'd have gotten if I traded. Vroom had a better offer. Whatever. It's a small market BMW dealer in central CT. It's exactly what you'd expect.

Anyway, enough of the rant:

If there are any pieces from the exterior CF pack you want, keep it optioned. Costs a lot more to get the same OEM pieces after the fact.
