Spare tire question

Anyone get one of these from Modern Spare? Confirm it fits? The webpage says M3, but reference to model year and "G20" is off.

Cannot confirm fit since I do not have one but 5x112 is correct for the G30. Looks like they got model code (G20) and year (2018?) wrong but everything appears correct. Please post pics of how you store it in trunk if you get it.

ps: there is a wheel and tire sub-forum where this thread would be more appropriate.

Going to be fully honest, this looks like a really great product. I'd love to know whether this fits our vehicles properly. I like their investment of the ratcheting scissor jack as well.

I get anxiety even just with RFT. Yes I know the number of times in my lifetime I've had a blowout where my car was undrivable has been few - 2 or 3 at most. But knowing there's a good backup is always nice.

Of course I could always put a winter or summer wheel in the trunk for peace of mind on long trips, but at risk of damaging the wheel's finish by being in the trunk.

I'd love to know if anyone else has used this/bought this. Specifically I'd be interested in the actual height/size of the end product to know how it fits in the trunk. I really like the owner's story.

Please report back to the group if you can. I ordered a G83 so carrying a full size tire isn't an option (won't fit in trunk).

This would give piece of mind on long trips especially with all the shortages right now. Good luck being 500 miles away from home and having a tire shop with a tire you could use.

I purchased a full setup from Modern Spare for my e91. Seems to be a great product, though it's still in the bag in the boot (and hopefully it stays there). I plan to order one for my G80 (which I need to do, since I took delivery yesterday).

So he didn't specifically answer that part of my question, so I replied back.

Hope to find out soon.

Found this out in the meantime if curious:

The weight will be 45 lbs on a complete kit with all of the tools etc.
The dimensions will be 25.5 x 6 inches for the M3.

So I chatted with a rep through the website. Cutting and pasting below but the takeaway is that new kit will be released in February and will use a 19" wheel.

Hello, can you confirm that BMWM31825P will fit over the front brake assembly on a G83 M4 (2022)?

Hi thereTLet me grab you the correct link
Your website says "2022" M3 but the model year of the current gen is incorrect as is the BMW chassis code - your page has G20. Current M3 and M4s are G80, G82 and G83.

Ok thank you

READ
TThe M4 kit will be added around FEB of this year, 2022. This trim will use our new 19'' wheel and will have clearance over the calipers without the need for a spacer.

If the outer diameter is only 25.5 (significantly smaller than the diameter of the oem-spec tires on the G8x), does that mean that if you get a rear flat, you have to move the good front tire to that rear spot, and then use this on the front (assuming rwd car)? Would this even be safe to use at all, on an x-drive?

I think this is a temporary use situation. I would only use it get home and then sort things out from there.

Just took my 22 M3CX to BMW to get a screw in my winter wheel set removed and patched. I also have my eye on this spare kit and would appreciate if anyone can confirm it fits front and back. I'll drive with this spare daily but for looong drives I'll swap a full tire from my other wheel set.

I'd like to know what you plan on doing too. I have a G83 on order. I'm not worried about a spare in local driving, but I have 2 kids in college 400 miles away and I'd like to have a spare handy when I am on a highway out of state. Thanks!

I finally reached out to Modern Spare regarding a 19" spare for a G80 and it looks like it may be a few months now. I also asked about an accessory kit, that is everything but the spare tire.

Yes we do have the accessory kits under our all products and accessories tab. We are developing a 19 inch wheel that will eliminate the need for spacers and hope to have that ready within the next few months.

Did anyone ever get any other information from them? Seems like they have a kit for the g8x folks, so, just curious if anyone has tried it?
