Honestly, that's a step in the wrong direction. Doesn't flow at all

It's hard to compete with the extreme polish of an OEM design from a 9-figure team filled with the world's most talented 3D modelers and artists.

The OEM design looks far better.

Your design doesn't look professional (yet). Needs lots and lots of iterations to bring it to production-readiness.

I have shared wip work, just to have direct feedback instead of spending countless hours accurately surfacing a design nobody will like.

I am a car designer working for OEM, worked for Bmw previously and I can tell it's going to be a final product to match any OEM quality in terms of surfacing and design, I am just checking if there is any potential customers around.
It's a cool design , but I think most would agree here that the original grille works super well as long as the front fenders are wide.

For example look at the GT3 version , then it all makes sense.

I don’t hate it and I commend the work but I just don’t get why? Those individuals who truly don’t like the front end and would want to swap surely won’t want BIGGER kidneys.

I think the market of those individuals who would swap the front end is shrinking. I also think that if they were to swap, it wouldn’t be in this direction. I don’t see much (if any) ROI here.

Again, I don’t hate it. Don’t love it either by the way, but I think stock looks way better!

Just my $.02.

DK__LA The version i did is not wider than the stock. KnightedBMW
Thanks for the effort in writing a more detailed feedback.

1.I have started the project as I have seen many people are hating the M3.M4 front end and there are several reasons for it.
2. Perhaps it is wrong that I have posted so early, before going into polishing it properly.
3. Size of the kidenys was never a problem, it was always the way they are shaped, compared to the rest of the car. All the upcoming BMW are going to have huge grilles, that's not a secret.
4. My initial 3d Model is showcasing rather a simplified, more aggressive version. In the stock, there is no definition around the headlights, the kidneys are way too rounded and also the lower treatment is not clear and confusing.

For now I am just testing to see if there is any market for such a product
as you said: "I think the market of those individuals who would swap the front end is shrinking."

I personally don't like the area directly below the license plate. That just doesn't flow the way it's squared off at the bottom and it makes the front look like it's ready to swallow a house.

Have you tried something like the front of the GT3 race car? That looks very good to me.

Most people that are going to want to change the front bumper (and I think there will be relatively few) will want the classic grille which doesn't work with these headlights and hood design.
Everything else , I think it's a waste of time.

There is a very specific reason that the vents don't extend too far from the center. The front fascia is designed so that there is less turbulence going around the left and right front edges of the car to draw the air into the side inlets more efficiently. I hope this design is air tunnel tested.

I guess I'm in the minority but I love it and I think it looks better than OEM.

If BMW released this as the CS or CSL or whatever I bet a lot of people would like it a lot also.

For me, I grew to like the OEM grill. No need to change it. Then Vorsteiner came along and made it even more aggressive. Slap that on and you have perfection IMO.

Looks ok, I think the people that hate the grill want them smaller though. They also say OEM is buckteeth or beaver teeth, this is further in that direction

I think it looks good for the most part. But I agree with McLaren720s that the area below the license plate throws the design off a bit. It sort of feels unfinished the way it goes straight down. Is there any chance you could refine that part of the design and run it by us?

BMW design team already eliminated various design proposals and came up with what we have today.

Aftermarket bumper designs are just eye sores.

Yes, this is my strong opinion. I can't hold it anymore after seeing so many weird and unnatural after market designs.

Jesus!

IMHO, BMW already course-corrected the polarizing front end with the CSL grill.. 🤔

Personally a big fan of the styling which is why I've ordered a G80...but for those looking to change the look, why not consider something totally different like this?

(Please excuse my poor graphic design but I hope you get where I'm going.)

Nah, To me the upper & lower bars look like supports that something else should attach to.

I like the current grill. Did not when I only saw pictures but in real life has a nice take no prisoners look.
