I will retrofit flat bottom steering wheel and galvanic controls. My car doesn't have heated steering wheel so thats a simple retrofit for me.

Only option I really wish was available is Sensatec dashboard. I would have gladly paid for it if it was available as a standalone option

If I get bored enough with the car or if my current plastic buttons start looking like crap, I’ll swap them out.

I have a bad feeling this car is gonna look really dated when the new generation M4 is released in a few years on new class platform.

unfortunatelly no new ICE M4 on the horizon, it seems we will only be getting a new 2028 BMW M3 (G84) alongside the full EV M3/M4

"The legendary BMW M3 appears set to continue its legacy. Sources indicate that BMW is planning a next-generation M3, with the internal designation G84, slated for release in the 2027-2028. timeframe. This development aligns with expectations, especially in light of the upcoming G50 3 Series, which is scheduled to debut in late 2026. However, the more significant news is the apparent absence of plans for a new combustion-engine BMW M4. As of now, there seem to be no intentions to introduce a successor to the current M4 with a traditional internal combustion engine. As always, nothing is considered official until confirmed by BMW, and production plans may be subject to alterations up to 18 months prior to the commencement of production."

Some cars certainly age better than others but after a few generations most look dated because of the march of technology and new platforms.

To my eyes the G8X platform looks better now than before, probably because of BMW’s new, even more polarizing designs.

Yes, the passenger side is another part number. This isn’t galvanic. This is just an example of what the black button one cost.

And Porsche money used to be Ferrari money, etc. And back in 1969, you could buy a Lamborghini Miura for $20K.

Am I the only one who thinks it’s a bit misleading for them to list “Forged” on those wheels? Aren’t the current mesh spoke style forged already. So is there an additional weight savings, what? No detailed info at all in the configurator.

I found that odd as well. And yes the 826m's are already forged.

And my Big Mac meal was $8 back in 2021. Now it's $18. Love "living wages" and inflation!

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, $88k today is exactly the same as $74k was in 2021. This is purely inflation and BMW adjusting to match.

I really hate that KO and silverstone don’t get colored door cards unless you go full merino.

I was thinking about this the other day. My dad had a 2006 M5 for about 90k. That 90k is now 140k today.

Inflation has not been kind over the last 18 years (last few particularly)

The US spec cars have less cool looking headlights. the euro spec headlights have more LEDs at the rear corner of the lights. The blue accents are also different.
