Thats exactly what I say lol. Pain is beauty. I love my seats. Its not graceful getting in and out but once your in theyre very comfortable. They are one of, if not the hottest Oem seats. Its not like the carbon exterior pack that you could just add later down the road.
IMHO they are the hottest OEM seats; even more hot than Porsche's OEM CF buckets.

Can you show what protectors you are talking about? Really wondering how you could attach seat back protectors on the CFB?

I was planning to protect them with PPF or something. Did you do that? Is the 4 year old not messing up the rear with his shoes?

Now, with my current V60 Polestar, I have seat back protectors (yes, it looks shit), where the kids can put some small stuff. This wont be possible on the CFB, so that would mean no more toys in the car

But I have to get them, I just have to!

I did not PPF the seat backs.

Interestingly enough the 4 year old keeps her feet off the seat and I haven't even had to wipe that side down. The passenger side where my 7 year sits behind is always dirty/dusty and I have to wipe it down. No other wear or damage to the seat back though.

The Porsche seats are hot, but these may be better. The AMG seats are damn nice too.

I like the AMG seats too, but BMW's design and carbon fiber quality is just impressive. The interior with CF buckets is 50% of the reason I wanted a G8X.

Ok thanks. The back of my Polestar is more cramped I guess, as my 5 year old always pushes with his feet in the back of the seat. I would definitely wrap the back of the seats when I get the CBF.

Porsche's seat is the best for track use (and easily the lightest) and IMO feels a bit more sturdy than the BMW seat but isnt as adjustable.
BMW's seat is the most comfortable and tied with Porsche for looks.
AMG's advantage is you can option heated, vented, and massage functions.

Wow, 5 pages about the carbon bucket seats. Many divergent opinions here.

I’ve got buckets in my mclaren they cradle my body like nothing out there. They are no frills alcantera, no heating, cooling, just beautifully shaped.
My M4 has been speced with carbon buckets, and if they are half as good as they look, I will be very pleased

Something about a well formed seat the inspires driving confidence
Make no mistake, they are not for heavy or wide drivers. As long you are normal size they are nice. I am hoping the carbon feats are the same

The CF buckets dont feel sturdy to you? Is it the slight "give" on the side bolsters?

They do not feel AS sturdy as the Porsche buckets and that is precisely why. The BMW seats have a good bit of side bolster flex whereas the Porsche seats are rock solid.

The bolster "give" helps your hip flexors and IT band react to G forces. I wouldn't want it to be too stiff but that's just me.

Sounds like there's a market for a SleepNumber-type seating system.

Haha.

Fun Fact: I am in pretty sick shape, especially my legs and core. Every track day I have ever done the next day the only thing that is sore is my hips.

Did a little break-in business trip and spent 15 hours in the buckets over the last 24 hours.
Very snug and comfortable, no aches or pains. I have both back issues and knee injuries from past adventures but had no pains whatsoever.
Slightly cramped feeling with restricted range of leg movement compared to standard seats.
Hard to make a graceful vehicle exit. Would not recommend to someone with knee problems.
