Where do you find this information regarding the tires and the 1.54.3 time for the RWD with PS4S ? And where did you find that the Xdrive laptime is also with PS4S ?
I can not find this information in either the posted video and/or the link with the Hockenheim lap-times ? So i am just wondering where your info comes from ? |

True, but it's also a mid-engined 2 seat sports car and ~600 lbs lighter than the M4, and I'm almost certain it was on Cup2's. SA has another test with a 2020 GT4 PDK on Cup2's where they clocked 1:54.6:
In any case, if power is king (it isn't) then the M4 was still a good bit quicker than what they got from the 760hp GT500

People need to STFU about the grills. You are adding zero to the conversations at this point.
Back to the cars, that is an incredible time considering the track looks pretty cold as well. It can be analyzed to death about whether is should be slightly faster or slower than other cars, but in the end the fact that it is even in the conversation with most of them is crazy. The chassis is based on a mass market mid priced car with a lot of compromises. BMW got this one right and is back on form with the M2CS and M5CS coming out of the same program. Can't wait to see what they do with the M3CS. |

If allocated, when I get my M4 CSL, I'll be grinning all the way around every bend on the road, long after I'd be frowning (because of the grille) for a second as I get into the car In a manner of speaking, the M4 CSL will be a dual purpose vehicle; grilling and thrilling

You'll have to live with people sharing their disappointment as much as we grill-haters have to live with the fact that BMW ruined that gen of M3/M4 for us.. |

I'm surprised the RWD was only 0.7 seconds faster with the Cup2 tires than with MPS4S. I was expecting a larger difference.
Wonder how much faster than 1,53.9 the XDrive would be on Cup2s. Overall, it looks like XDrive maintains about a 0.5 second lead compared to RWD on same tires from what we've seen so far at other tracks as well.

Agree, no need to defend the porker here. The GT4 is a hell of a sports car and a really good benchmark hence the comparison. It shows how good the M4 is not how slow or bad the GT4 is.

Its a looker alright but I find the G8x and its sheer road presence just as beautiful and yes that frontend won me over the moment I saw it. Uber aggressive and in ur face just as it should be.
The G8x looks amazing in the flesh and even better if you own one. |

But in real world thats half a second people!! Its not so much having that performance in your M3/M4 as the average buyer isnt noticing 0.5s day to day but its purely knowing you have that performance that is the difference here. Its what gives you the bragging rights to anyone that will listen and thus be impressed by. |

Interesting
even if theres ONLY 0.5sec difference between RWD and AWD for pro-drivers its gonna be a lot greater gap for average amateur drivers like you and me i guess.

That silly smiley face on the front of the GT4 is just too much for me. But, whatever floats your boat. You do you.
Maybe you could add some lipstick to make it even "prettier"? You'd never call the M4 pretty. But it sure has "get out of my way peasant" presence. |
