Crazy to compare, but both equally fun! New Civic Type R
I bought a new 2024 CTR! The discount I got on the G80 was almost the same as the markup on the CTR, so I call it even! Both cars compliment each other well, the shifter and steering feel on the CTR is sublime, but the G80 obviously has a lot more grunt.
For pretty much half the cost of my G80, the CTR is one hell of a nice driving experience. |

I've always loved the CTR, great choice! I'll bet a lot of us got their starts in a hopped up Honda

Never thought I’d say this, but I actually prefer the Gundam craziness of the FK8 to this Gen. it’s just an overstyled Accord now. Performs great for FWD though, no doubt about it.

I liked the FK8, but yeah the styling is a little too out there for me. I really like the FL5 styling though. It's very understated and for me being just a side car, is just about the perfect blend of fun and practicality.

I like the FL5 much more than the FK8, doesn't look over the top, but the wider fenders and quarters differentiate it from a regular civic. This was also on my short list of cars, who knows maybe I'll own one someday

Mine was similar. I have the M3 Comp and the Integra Type S. Love both cars.

Congrats on the CTR! Were you set on that or did you also consider the ITS? Both cars look fantastic in your garage by the way!

Love the idea of the CTR / ITS, but finally got some seat time in one and I was somewhat underwhelmed. Not sure what I was expecting from a FWD car, but the journalists had me thinking these things would be like an e46, lol.
From a styling standpoint though, MILES better than the previous gen. That said, would go with the GRC or Golf R in a heartbeat in this segment. |

Let's see some side by side pictures! How do the hips compare? Dimensions are very similar. How much over sticker did you pay? Some dealers are still asking 10K over around me. It's not like they are that hard to find now.

Interesting you guys have both G80 and FL5 or ITS. I am actually trying to choose between the two for my next car (currently have Cayman GTS and Mini Cooper JCW). I am leaning heavily towards G80 because I prefer RWD, but I also know in my use case I won't get to fully wind out the car that often and ITS has superior audio system. If I get the G80 I plan on doing the Bimmer-tech amp speaker upgrade and lowering springs so all in my G80 will probably be at least 90k. However, one of my two current cars is a tuned Mini Cooper JCW manual and being FWD I know it is not much fun to drive fast around the curves. How is the FL5/ITS going fast around curves? Why did each of you get the FL5/ITS and not drive the G80 full time?

I've considered selling the G80 for a Giulia QV, but at some point it feels like a downgrade, even though the driving dynamics is better on the QV. |

I picked up a 24 CW Type R today. 71% residual!
Traded My 23 Prius in. I could not do it any more. I tried to be fuel efficient for 6 months. Wow the R feels amazing so far. It looks so wicked good in person also. It's G80 wide. My first manual since my F80. It's fun! Still have the Quadrifoglio for now. |

CTR hands down one of the best drivers cars out there, along with the ITS.

I bought a new FK8 and had it for a bit over two years. You can’t go wrong with either (the new CTR certainly looks better but the FK8 is the one to have long term) but I would generally want something very different to complement either choice. |
