I'm really curious if anyone has found a way to disable this -

When driving and using CarPlay, I often have Google Maps navigation going on my G82's display. Whenever I receive a call, regardless of if I accept it on the steering wheel, on the screen, or on my phone, the vehicle display automatically switches from Google Maps to the call screen.

Similarly, if I make a call, regardless of using Siri or manually using the phone, the vehicle display automatically switches from Google Maps to the call screen.

This drives me NUTS, and I'm really hoping someone smarter than me has found a way around this...

Yeah, it annoys me a bit. I wish it would just automatically revert back to the map once I have answered the call. But I think that's intended operation and I don't see any settings around it. It's not all that hard just to tap the screen to switch back but it's one of those things I wish it did better.

This is an Apple decision to do it like this. Nothing you can do. You answer, then hit the Maps icon on the left to go back into Maps.

It's been like this since iOS 7 when carplay was released, hopefully they finally update this functionality soon.

FYI, if you use Apple Maps, you get turn by turn directions in the HUD.

This is a game changer rarely ever have the map up unless it’s turning off a main road

And you can still view the Sat maps in Google maps on the main display. Just don't start Nav in Google.

Sadly I've never been a fan of HUDs, so I didn't option it for my G82 (though having it would solve this annoyance).
