If you want detail - here you go:

You'll want the Long version.

Did anybody catch the detail on the new C63AMG? 2111kg for the saloon with a 4cyl engine and hybrid tech - 0-62mph in 3.4s but 680hp and 782 lbft of torque!

Think I'd rather have an M4 Xdrive!

Just another previously desirable model to cross off the list of future ownership. I had an 09 C63 back in the day and it was a blast. Already thought it was too heavy back then, much less at 4700 lbs and a sweet 4 cylinder exhaust note.... I truly believe that the brand that holds out the longest will win.

Tried an E63 back in the day - great car but bought a 997 GTS instead.

Definitely don't want this version of the C63 though - the whole point of the "63" range is the V8 as far as I'm concerned.

Yes I've read all that. I stand by my original statement though. The changes aren't significant enough. If you too were to read that article like I have, you'd notice that many of the items noted there, are applicable to the standard non csl car. Like when they talk about the engine or the different driving modes and traction settings. They've copy/pasted from the standard car's owners manual and made it seem like those features were unique to the CSL only, but they are not.

It will be easier to debate once we can drive the cars and use the new traction control modes, I've read that 0-5 is like the normal car and 5-10 are custom maps for different kind of tracks.

Should get my hands on the car right before snow kicks in hopefully.

I have read the press release - they state what elements are unique to the CSL. Off the top of my head, they are CF hood, CF boot, reduced sound deadening, unique grill, full carbon bucket seats, rear seat delete, aluminium front strut brace, rear bulk head reinforcement, engine tune, increased camber, Cup 2R tyres, lightweight centre console, carbon ceramic brakes, unique engine mounts, rear suspension with no play, helper springs front and rear, unique CSL badging, unique rear light cluster and yellow DRLs and I'm sure loads of other stuff that I've forgotten.

Yes, that is exactly right. That is a good summary of all the differences and is what I am aware of as well.

No hate here my friend

Welcome to our corner of the BMW world.

May you live long and prosper
The recent spike in people saying "it's just a tune and some weight removal" makes me think we have another winner on our hands.

I was more worried when there were $100k premiums and universal assumption it would be amazing.

I was talking like this about the M2CS when it was announced and I was so wrong.

Mine had been scheduled for production for the last 2.5 months lol

My dealer told me it should be here sometime in Jan-Feb.
I'm sure it will be one of a kind, 4dr CSL [IMG][/IMG]

Anybody height adjusted their full buckets yet? Really curious if you can achieve any tilt, for example the rear side mounts in lowest position and the fronts in a higher position. Or anything else noteworthy about the adjustability - do they slide back as far as the M carbon seats , etc.

My understanding is that they can only go up or down in 3 graduations

Agree, but I think front and rear are independent. the front appears to be slotted, thus allowing for mixed positions. For example, lowest in the rear and highest in the front should tilt the bucket rearward.

I'm not sure how they get slotted (ie linear or angular) - if they're aligned on an angular rail, then what you are saying is definately possible. However, if they're aligned linearly vertical, then the base of the seat would rise, or lower down, horizontally aligned, meaning, hole 1 at the back, would require hole 1 at the front so the seat's base would remain horizontal.

Having said all that, I won't know until I get to sit in mine come July next year.
