CT5 V Blackwing gets a facelift
https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a4...ies-blackwing/
Nice nose job and they fixed the biggest issue on the car....the absolutely god-awful dashboard. The new screen brings it up to date and makes it pretty compelling if you can put up with the fuel economy. |

And I wish BMW took some notes on how to implement a dashboard screen properly. |

The front for me was never the issue, pre-facelift and facelift both look great. The rear is what I couldn't get past, something about the trunk and tail lights look really clunky.
The screen does look much better though, although I wonder if they elevated material quality in the interior. Didn't see that mentioned in the article.

I have zero issues with ID8 so I never felt like it needed fixing. To me, Caddy's take is different and I like it, but I wouldn't say it's better unless it's all one screen. Split screens are my only knock on ID8.

I just left a dealership and sat in a 2024 CT5-V Blackwing. I just can’t get over the “Chevy 2.0” interior. Things fit together well, but the font on the buttons was Chevy. The leather/pleather on the dash was Chevy. The color and texture of most of the buttons was Chevy.

I am waiting to test drive one, but on the CT5VBW forums, I recognize a lot of the old enthusiasts from this board during the E90/F80 days, which is fairly telling, that the car must be an engaging drive.

It sounds better than the M cars, is faster than the M cars (Except the 0-60 of course) and is a fantastic track vehicle. That to me matters more than aesthetics. |

I find that the times I am in a Ferrari, the buttons are the same as those from a Fiat or Alfa which are fractions of the price, but ultimately, I don't think it matters that much. Same with Porsche - same buttons in a 300K GT3RS/S/T/Sport Classic as you get in a 60K base Macan and likely the same as you get in any Audi/VW but no one seems to draw any parallels. |

Full disclosure; I’m typing this while I sit at the dealer as they’re replacing an emissions system component. Quote:

My previous G80 was a Comp, so auto. I’ve only had limited seat time in a manual G80. IMO, the manual experience in the 5BW is a lot more engaging, and I guess serious? My E90 M3 was a manual, so the BW is very reminiscent of that. I think what has set the hook for a lot of us converts, is going from the S58 to the LT4. The sounds and feels. Goosebumps. Do I still long to have a new G80 CS in my garage. Absolutely. |
