So ive been down to the dealership and we are all currently fine sitting and riding around in a 992, but my deliberation is what happens as the kids grow?

I am wanting to own the 911 for about 5 years therefore opinions on whether the the following would work? Ive roughly calculated the average heights of my kids at the 5 year stage of ownership of the car based on average heights in my country.

Two persons of heights of 5ft9" (passanger front) and 5ft8" drivers seat, rear passangers one at 5ft and the other at 5ft1" ?

Would that above work??

Sorry I haven't responded to your latest DM

if they fit now...buy it! You mentioned your wife is short and she fits. You only get one shot at this window and the way things are now, 911's aren't depreciating very quickly. I bought my 997 Turbo S in 2020, put 10,000 miles on it, did a few repairs and sold it for $10k more than I paid. Granted it's a low mile Turbo S...

If you can find a good deal on a 992 new or used, grab it. Base Carreras tend to depreciate harder than S so bear that in mind. I'm glad I got ours when we did, my daughter loved riding in the back of the cab when she fit. That era is over for now but I'm glad we got to enjoy it.

Go for it! If you make 5 years great. If not, you'll be selling a used 911 which is not the worst position to be in

To add. It has to be a GT3 or GT3RS for me.

Made the mistake of getting in a buddy of mines 19 GT3RS. And all I can say is I finally see what all the hype is about.

Paired with the Dundon exhaust the car is perfection.Handling, road feel, exhaust note, all perfect.

But to be fair the M isn’t in its league. So I’ll say that the RS was more enjoyable then my older GTR or any Ferrari/Lambo/Mclaren I’ve driven. (Minus the hyper cars).

Also I don’t think it’s perfect for everyone. Definitely if you don’t track, prefer something more road suitable or need rear space for kids.

Run-on sentence time....
Living in the US snowy climate with my local dealers, working from home, and already done the Tesla Model 3 experience but still bucketlisting a V8 because I was sooooo far down the Z06 AND ERay list, I think my next car would be the Hyundai N 74 if they don't seriously neuter the styling since Porsche 911 GTS prices are out of control and nothing else interests me (RS6 Avant or BW5 - which I recently passed on at below msrp - are too big for my 99.99% solo driving), so I'll probably get whatever PHEV or hybrid BMW "sports" car is available in 2026.

Received an allocation for a Porsche 911 GT3. So, that is next.

I’m likely buying my M4 Comp X-drive out after the lease and building it to stage 2 for mid low 10s on pump gas.

Anyone else moving away from cars? I feel like "next step" cars that I'm interested in have a price point I'm not interested in. As well as the fact that I'm taking increasingly more expensive daily drivers to the track.

I'm scrapping all that and expanding my motorcycle collection. I can fit 4 to 5 bikes in my extra bay. Over the next 3 years I'll be acquiring 3 more bikes and I already know which ones I'm going to buy.

Sounds like an interesting plan! Any thoughts on S1000R, M1000RR or GS1300? I would love to get a GS1300, I am not much of a sport/super bike person, but the size of the GS intimidates me frankly. May be a smaller GS800 would be good enough for my weekend ride fantasy.

I think most people who have a season or two of riding experience should be able to handle the full size GS without issue. You can get a used GS 850 with mods for $10-12k to see if it's the kind of bike you want and then work from there.

I have an interest in PHEV and while I have no need for it, the technology in the new ram 1500 PHEV is exciting. And it doesn’t cost six figures! I’d rather spend that difference toward traveling the world and riding motorcycles. I was somewhat interested in the M 1000 XR but after its release I’m no longer in that market.

I think that bike looks amazing but those huge HP bikes are just so so far over and above what I could use, even being irresponsible with highway acceleration. I've tried a lot of different style bikes and by far the most fun I've experienced, outside of dirt bikes, are Supermotos. Which are the opposite direction of a bike like the M1000 series.

Though, it would be nice to have one of those for a day and hand it back at the end.

I purchased a G80 comp x drive in Sep 2022 and then ordered a 992 as my next car.

Excuse me, placed a hopeful deposit for an allocation sometime in 2024. Then my $156k OTD incl. tax and ADM became $164k because of a price hike. Prices probably have gone up since then. I keep that quotation as a sort of keepsake of my 911 dream squashed.

Purchased a Tesla and swapped the M3 for a Z4. Really cool little car. Now I've ordered a manual M4 for delivery in March.

I picked up my G82 ‘24 a month ago, but already started to look towards Mercedes AMG GT 63. Really don’t want to like it… but I kind of do (from pictures only)…

Yes, I watched that one and a couple of others. Seems nice. But as I wrote in some other post, I got my drivers license two years ago. Not been very active and only driven BMWs so far. Will be interesting to see if I get the possibility to try the new GT 63 to compare with my M4cx ‘24.

Also, hope for the real estate market to wake up again, so I can keep the M4 and get the GT if it’s any good.

So as much as I love this car, I have to try something new. The catch is, every option I consider makes me compare it to this car, and what I'll be missing from the G82.

Options:

718 GTS 4.0 or 911 GTS - Better handling, but I'm going to miss the interior space and power of the M4. Plus I would like to keep the rear seats.

F87 M2 Competition Manual - I'm going to miss the S58 power delivery and the way it sounds.

G87 M2 - I wasn't considering this until recently. The G82 is faster around the track and more comfortable, so why get this over a G82? Is the weight and shorter wheelbase going to make it more enjoyable? I guess I need to test drive it.

Supra Manual - Again, I would like to keep the back seats. I kind of feel like it will be a step down to go to a B58 from an S58.

Blackwing - nah

C8 - Too flashy for me

What else am I missing???

2024 F450 Super Duty. 6.7L High Output Power Stroke® V8 Turbo Diesel. 40,000 lbs. conventional tow rating. 2 door, DRW, Dual Rear Wheels.

ORDERED. . Front wheel spacers come standard. Wheels tilt like a GD road grader. You can whip in a space like no tomorrow. 500hp, 1200 hp torque before tune and Banks bits.

M4 might be a trailer queen......

Gorgeous car. Not a huge fan of the interior, although Merc has never been that great at interiors. Prob super comfortable but as some have said the interior is like an Apple Watch when the car needs a Rolex.

it's not all about performance on a sport car. I would, also, focus on the driving experience.

My M3 Xdrive has been tuned to 650hp, 780 NM. "on paper" I have a 911 turbo S. Ok, off course....the 992 turbo S can be mapped as well.....but.....for the money, to me, the M3 is a benchmark in its class nowadays.

Beside that, There's nothing I would buy to replace it as of today.....I would buy something in addition instead, as I'm doing.

Not sure if I would buy a 992....to me the only reasonable thing to do is, after buying a real daily to keep alongside the M, looking at a supercar, like a Ferrari or a Lambo, to "build" my dream Garage:

- a little car to put on a track on sundays
- a classic car for special occasions
- a daily practical car (a V8 SUV maybe or an estate)
- a true sport sedan like my M3 c
- a true supercar to complete the garage

dreamin' doesn't cost......

I've ordered an M3cx to add to a (base) Taycan - love the Taycan. If I was after more speed, moving to a Taycan Turbo would be cheaper, but I need some emotion. B58 is an animal.

I'd say the most natural move is to a 991.2. I know a lot about them, let me know if you need some tips on spec (911's are HIGHLY spec dependent).
I've driven every gen 911 over the last two decades, and owned a 991.1 C4S for a few years. Every time I realized that I like the idea of driving/owning a 911 more than actually doing so. It's a precision instrument, and I'm looking for something more blunt. I loved the G82 and G80 I drove - tough act to follow for the OP.
