Gave her a bath after work. Full PPF on the car sure helped clean it, but those wheels are are a nightmare…even had them ceramic coated, and it still sucked.

Not sure if there is a difference G80 vs G82 but the seats have a huge gap between the headrest and the top carbon fiber cover on my G82 after the installation and I had to customize a fair bit to get the gap closed. The plastic bracket on the top cover does not go far enough into the recess of the headrest plastic locking mechanism.

Understand that, but it does not need to have that stupid gap. After my adjustment mod, there is virtually no gap at all and the headrest moves up and down just fine. Very happy with the turnout.

Your wheels look great. I did +11 on front with a 285 30 tire. I was afraid it would rub fender liner too much. I still get a little rub when turning in reverse some.

Thanks so much. Yours do too…love the finish against your dravit. It’s a solid combo and stands apart too.

Don’t know if it’s just the picture but they both look super clunky and intrusive.

Close to pulling the trigger on these. Care to share the adjustment mod?

TIA

It depends on the size of the gap and how you can accept it. Check your current factory plastic cover and then install the new one and you can compare and see if the mod is needed.

Basically there is the plastic back cover got epoxied to the top of the seatback cover and it has the bracket with side rails (I call it the male one) that slide into the bracket (I call it the female one) on the headrest. The bracket on the headrest has a little bump on each side so they go into the rails on the male bracket and lock backseat top cover in place and slide up and down when you adjust it.

I believe the CF performance covers are handmade with that top cover epoxied to the back and carbon fiber cover outside. So it has the tolerance gap when you slide it into the headrest bracket. Unfortunately sometimes the gap is just big enough and gets annoying, as in my situation, about 5mm or more I think.

What I did was to glue a tiny piece of hard plastic next to the little bump on the headrest bracket, one each side and that allows the back cover go in a bit further and eliminate the gap.

You can remove your back cover and understand what I said. It is very easy to remove the back cover. G80 is even easier without that door handle on the side.
