Installed mine today! This is how the car should have sounded from factory. Install was easy. Most of the time went into cable management. Bunch of zip ties did the trick.

Ok so re-read this thread and have a few ??
- what powers this thing? Any need to fuse tap, etc? - if there is an internal battery, then can it be changed out when battery dies or does it need a new entire “brain”? - once installed, do you lose OEM functioning? - I’m assuming you unplug OEM (tape it off and ziptie securely under car) and plug in SST? TIA |

it installs inline with the OEM wiring, nothing stays unplugged, there is no need for external power, there is no battery, OEM functionality is retained as one of the selectable options on the controller. |

As an FYI for anyone installing on a stock exhaust, it does drone when you are on the highway driving at a constant 80/90. Fortunately I can flip back to oem settings with the remote and voila it’s gone.

Ordered yesterday.
Here’s hoping it makes it that 10 percent louder I’m looking for. Then next will be bimmercode and removing ASD. I leave/arrive home at all different times and would like to keep the neighbours from hating me, the valve controller seems like a great compromise. If that’s too quiet then I’ll look into some exhaust options. |

SST valve controller + removing ASD is going to be the first mod on my new M4

Just did a 900km trip of almost all highway km's and at about 130km (80mph) with the exhaust button off and the car in "comfort" mode it is so serene. I don't want to lose that feature of this daily driver. That's why a valve controller seems to be such a great option compared to keeping the valves open permanently (as has been done in another thread). My biggest issue is going to be the instal, given I'm a noob when it comes to any car mods. The pics and videos in this thread and others are greatly appreciated! (and please keep them coming ) |

I installed mine, was easy. I programmed A and C buttons off the remote to the homelink on the mirror so I don't even need to use the remote. Pretty cool.

Yes, I mounted the box in the trunk with 3m tape. I didn't want a bunch of extra wire hanging under the car so I chose to run the passenger side behind the battery and out the grommet on the passenger side of the car. Doing it this way involves removing the plastic under the car on both sides but I feel is cleaner. Still a lot of extra wire in the trunk I tried to zip tie best as I could but worked out good.

I'm not sure what counts as "sitting at the port," but mine only took a day or so before being at status "the shipment will be transported to the destination country" so whether that means it's still at the port or not, no idea.

Decided to move mine into the trunk spot for a cleaner install. It’s super easy, I actually don’t think you even need to remove anything to do it as the grommet is accessible enough from under the car to get the wires through. Unless of course you are like me and accidentally push the grommet out into the black plastic box and have to remove it all anyway to retrieve it 😆
Also have the remote mounted in the center cubby area. |

Looks like mine sat at airport for 4 days. Of course I looked yesterday when I saw your post and the flight info wasn't there even though it says it left Monday, so maybe yours is on a flight also

Just finished installing mine as well. 100% don't need to remove anything to reach the other side of the grommet. Unless yea, you accidentally push the grommet into the plastic box, which I did for one side.... Just remove the grommet from the bottom of the car and not from the trunk and you shouldn't send the grommet into the black abyss... Here are some bad pics of the location of where the grommet comes out to, took me a little to find it, but it's super close to the valve actuator. |
