I think the M4 and M3 CS’s are really for different people though. They aren’t making any more M3 CS. I specifically did not shoot for the M3 CS because I wanted a 2 door. And the CSL was both out of my price range and too raw for my tastes to be my daily.

I don’t think the M4 CS will cannibalize M3 CS values at all. Different cars for different needs. There are plenty of people who do not want/can not have a 2 door only vehicle. They’ll be forced to look into the used M3 CS market.

nah, they're going to go all-out and make an XM GT2 to make sure they could take all the money.

You know CSL used to stand for 'Coupe Sport Light'
Now BMW calls it 'Competition Sport Light'
XM CSL is possible

Probably $15-20k less, standard trunk, AWD option, same enhancements as the M3 CS (more power than the competition, same torque). Not as lightweight as the CSL and probably more accessible production numbers.

If any M car deserves a CS, it’s the M4. After all, they made an F82 M4 CS. Why not make a G82 M4 CS? The F82 also had an M4 GTS. I bet that will be the M4 swan song close to when this platform is coming to an end.

My F80 M3 CS held its value pretty well. The confusion happens when sellers incorrectly list Competition models as CS models. The CS still depreciates, but are still priced more than civics or competitions.

The M2 deserves it more. 453 hp with some light weight parts and more importantly a 6 speed transmission, that's heaven.

Funny how today it’s no longer cringe when you see a non-M car running ///M plates or badges since BMW itself is the worst offender.

There’s no doubt they’re more expensive than civics and comps. But you also paid more, so it’s expected.

I got a pretty sweet deal! But your are right overall, they depreciated just like every other M car. They aren’t going to be $1,000,000 classic Ferraris or anything.

Will be interesting to see how these special editions hold considering they’ll be last special full ICE’s.

They're the exact same car with two fewer doors but still seats in the back. The weight difference between them is what 15 pounds? The cars perform the same, drive the same, but look somewhat different.

Operative phrase “two fewer doors”. That means quite a lot to most people…

The M4 CS will enter at a $120k price point. At that point, it’ll be a hard sell for the buyers considering a 2 door coupe as they would most likely go for a new 992 Carrera or a 991.2 GTS or a 991 Turbo.

I believe you! There was a time when you could lease a CS for $700-$800 per month. Now a civic g80/82 goes for $1700.
