SZL, HBA, 5AC automatic high low beam don't understand

Hello everybody,

I'm planning to buy a BMW M2 F87 pre LCI version but there is something i don't understand.

In the attached files, the second pics with two rounds show that on the bottom left there is "automatic light icon" but not auto light on the szl.

On the other pics (first pic) we can see the automatic light on the szl.

I don't manage to understand why, i suppose scond pics car doesn't have the 5AC package "automatic high beam" while the first pic car has it.

But why on the left bottom of the second pic is there the icon of "automatic headlight" could you tell me please what is the difference between this two cars for the headlight ? Thx

In fact i would just a m2 f87 with light that come from high beam to low beam automatically when it's meeting another car on the road and then that come back to high beam automatically while it's passed. Could you tell me if the car of the second pics with two rounds is doing it ? Thx a lot

Auto headlights are different than auto highbeams.

Both pictures the M2 has auto headlights. Only the top M2 has auto high beams. Auto high beams does sense another car and will change the headlights to low beam. Once the car passes it will return to high beam if no other car is in sight.

1. Auto mode automatically switches on & off your headlights
2. Adaptive Headlight function, i.e., cornering & swivelling headlights
3. High-beam Assist won't work unless headlights are in Auto mode

High-Beam Assist is what's on the turn signal stalk.

Auto headlights turn your headlights on when it is dark or when it rains.
