My car was dispatched from the factory on 4/9 (matching the production date 4/9) and today later in the morning the status flipped to “At port”.

Now the long wait starts since it is bound to the west coast…

I’m week 14. Production date was 4/5 and was at the port 4/9. Contacted bmw genius about a vessel but no luck. Not sure when the next ship is that leaves port. According to the WW calendar it’s not until May 18th, which I’m surprised about.

Funny enough, a K-Line vessel did leave on 4/9, but they don't seem to stop at many eastern ports (Baltimore, Brunswick, Charleston). The last WW left on April 3rd— just missed it. You may be mistaken, as the next WW Vessel leaves on 4/15. It's the Grand Saphhire, and there are eight ports of call on their trip.

Since we're on that topic, I have a running theory about my car. I don’t think it will go K-Line, or at least I hope not.

Here’s why:

The last “K” Line Ship Polaris Highway left Bremerhaven on 9 April, slated to hit Charleston on 30 April.

The ship Hamburg Highway leaves on 21 April, but does not go to the Ports of Baltimore, Brunswick, or Charleston.

The next ship leaving Bremerhaven that goes to Charleston leaves on 30 April, which means my car would pretty much be sitting there for nearly three weeks. That ship doesn’t arrive until 25 May.

Currently, the best-case scenario is for the car to get on the WW ship Grand Sapphire, which leaves on 15 April and arrives in Charleston on 8 May.

I forgot to include that my port of entry is “BALPOA” aka Baltimore. So when I looked up the WW schedule to Baltimore may 18th was the earliest. Thank you for the info!

Oh, gotcha.

You could potentially get on the Donnington, but until further notice, they are only calling from Sparrows Point.

That leaves 30 April, but Arrives 13 May.

For WW, you should play around with the Arrivals. I just found this one as well, and it leaves tomorrow.

Besides taking delivery, this is one of the most exciting parts of this whole thing.

Found something odd, maybe I’m missing something. When I put Bremerhaven to Newport it shows up and Baltimore is on the list of calls. When I put Bremerhaven to Baltimore it doesn’t. Interesting.

Difficult to say why that is as they both have similar port calls minus a few here and there.

Yes this is the only vessel heading to Baltimore until the end of April. I have been at the port since 4/5. So if we miss this then it won’t be until end of April. When I called Genius the other day they stated it could 6-8 weeks 🤦🏻‍♂️.

I will be optimistic for y'all and say that you make it on the Tijuca, which leaves on the 13th... spare a few more days for the update to kick in, and you'll probably know by late next week.

That’s insane! I really hope that isn’t the case.

This discussion has been super helpful. My car arrived at Bremerhaven on April 3 and I too thought if I missed the April 9 ship (which I believe I did) that I would be waiting at least three more weeks for the next one on K-line. Nothing was showing up on WW until May if I punched in Bremerhaven to Baltimore.

Mine turned to "dispatched from factory" yesterday. Been like that all day today. So I guess it's not at the port yet. So once at the port, I guess I can expect a 2 week wait until it hits "in transit" and assigned to a ship right? I guess that's what I am seeing from other folks' timelines.

I don't know. I was already checking the ship schedules but then I called a Genius today and she said the wait at the port can be up to 4 weeks from the production date. Hopefully she is wrong and we get on NYK Heroic Leader leaving Bremerhaven on 4/22, arriving to Port Hueneme on May 21.
