Coding info?

I noticed the F8x M3 forum has a section dedicated to coding, don't see that here for the G8x yet. Too new for any info?

Any changes with this new platform that might make coding more difficult?

This is an experience I've always enjoyed with my BMWs and looking forward to info as people start digging in. I coded my F87 before I even put 100 miles on it and will hoping to do the same with the G80.

It's a new M generation, but a lot of the electronics are shared with the 3, 4, and X series cars. What's possible for coding those should also transfer to the Ms.

Carly has a list -

I assume there are significant differences from the fact that Bimmercode and Carly don't support G80/G82 yet. I contacted Bimmercode and was told that there was no ETA.

I was able to look at many things setting Bimmercode to G20, but a lot of settings were unrecognized values. I did not make any changes. Waiting for them to get ducks in rows.

I would not be interested in bricking the car trying to update a non-supported model. It would be a difficult call to BMW dealer requesting a tow truck and service.

First time I did an OTA update on my X7 I did it in front of one of the service bays at my dealer after hours, I would think someone could be a guinea pig using a similar method.

I don't think a dealer would help me making changes to settings using a 3rd party app or with ESYS that they don't make available to customers

No, but if you brick your car in front of the service bay, at least you don't have to pay for the tow truck to get them to fix it 😉
