Deals are relative with time I suppose, when I bought my ‘22 everything was cheaper and loans were free, so everything is a ripoff when you put it like that. Point is that there are cars available at MSRP right now, and there’s a good chance somebody could snag one for under sticker in a week or two. This was the first broker ad I clicked on while taking a peek this morning.

The demand for the G82 has never been close to the G80.

Market is certainly not softening for the M3. Hell my store has 11 in line waiting for an allocation.

My point is (and I leased mine May 26, 2023 when the loans and rates were NOT that favorable...) that "purchase price at MSRP" means nothing if they roll in other junk and jack up the rates as shown in the "deal" above from you for the 2024 Manual at $83k MSRP that requires $4k up font and $12xx PLUS taxes as a "deal".

Sale price (relative to MSRP) is a relative thing. The whole deal is what matters.

Again, my MSRP was above $83xxx. The lease rates were not better than today. Texas lease requires tax on the whole vehicle value (MSRP) not the lease portion of it (like California), I walked away with the vehicle, $0 down, first month payment only. I'd say that my lease is below $1,100 + taxes

Iirc base MSRP on 2024 G80s jumped $1700 recently. Regarding the ad, I don’t know what fees they’re including in 4k DAS but just first month (1200) + tax (100 or so) + reg (1000) + acquisition (925 iirc) + doc fee is already around 3500. Somebody could probably opt to roll those fees in and pay just the first month if they wanted to. Not sure what they’re offering for MF or what buy rate is right now.

1) acquisition is rolled into total price NOT paid up front on the lease
2) registration of $1000 - there is the answer to my “ripoff comment”. All fees and registration should not be over $300-400. However, THAT is also not paid up front but rolled into overall lease price
3) who cares that 2024 got bumped by $1700 vs 2023???? MSRP is MSRP. And residual is calculated off MSRP. Therefore your point means nothing.

In fact, all 3 points make zero sense.

1) acquisition can be paid up front or rolled into the lease, and there are valid reasons somebody might choose either. You might be thinking of destination (995 iirc) which is baked into the MSRP.

2) I’ll agree $1000 for reg is ridiculous but that’s how it is out here in CA and where the posted deal is from. I paid $964 just to register mine, and that’s just for the first year. Crazy, but not “junk” that the dealer is making money off of

3) you’re the one who cares? You brought up your 2023 and your monthly payment in comparison to the 2024. I didn’t have the residuals or MF rates handy, so I was hoping to convey that you get less car for the same money now. I did just check the rates on Edmunds — looks like somebody could get .00210 last year, and this year (as of November) it’s .00268. Depending on terms and location yadda yadda. Didn’t check if residuals changed.

WeÂ’re into the weeds now, OP isnÂ’t even from CA or TX. All I said was there are MSRP cars here that may be ripe for an EOY deal

It would not hurt to offer under MSRP for cars in stock or even order one

You don’t get what you don’t ask for

I paid MSRP ordered 9/30/2022, took delivery on April 14 2023, I asked the dealer to honor the 2022 MSRP they declined.

MSRP increased from my deposit to ordering

That was a time of parts shortages, low numbers of allocations, long delivery times & ADM's up to $20,000 in some areas.

I made what was considered a great deal on the 2022 in the early summer of 2021 & delivered just after Thanksgiving. MSRP -$1,000 with 0.9% BMWFC financing. Additionally, I received separately the BMWCCA rebate once I had all the documentation.

Depends on the meaning of broke.

Probably plenty of G8x owners with five figures in savings thinking they're good to go, while folks with six figures or more liquid are thinking that is essentially broke.

There’s literally a thread going right now about if it’s alright to put 87/89 gas in the car instead of premium because gas is expensive. So I wouldn’t be to sure about your statement lol

Ooooph.

If I were in that headspace, I'd go with a Toyota/Lexus of some kind, with good gas mileage, and spend a few years saving and climbing the ladder before I dropped cash on a new M.

But I'm also old and my thoughts on most matters are irrelevant...

Exactly I've never understood why people who spend 80-100k on a PREMIUM car try to cheap out on the gas/maintenance If you can't afford maintenance or gas you can't afford the car. Like you mentioned, get something more affordable until you the have the means before getting into debt for something one is unable to maintain.

“Premium” gas like 91+ is standard in Germany. It’s always been the case that’s the gas you should use. It makes no sense to put cheap gas u are saying $10. I would not buy premium German car if gas price is a concern.

Doesn’t Germany use 91 RON (maybe I’m mistaken, if so ignore me)? Thats the same as 87 in the states, 91 in the states = 95 RON

You can always make an offer on a new M3 that is on the lot for 10% off of MSRP.

You may get discounts or you may not.

Only certainty is you are not going to get a discount if you don’t make an offer

Good luck
