Interesting look, can't say that I love it just yet?

Btw, the auto start stop function will not stay off every time you drive. But....it will not shut off your motor when your blinker is on. Future BMWs with the auto start stop function will be able to look and recognize stop lights as well.

Everything I DO NOT WANT in my "fun" car. The exodus continues.......

These cars are becoming appliances. It will be balls-out fast but take no effort for the driver.

Everyone better scoop their favorite current N/A with manual transmission now, before it's too late.

Automatic transmission only in the next "M"3. I mean really.

Don't buy the awd then

If it's really ligher and with rwd option, that's right around e46 m3 weight with almost 2x the power. Winning!

I'm not happy about the soft top for the convertible. I understand it reduces weight, but if you buy the convertible you're typically not looking for the fastest track time anyway. The retractable hardtop is so nice! And it's sad that the manual gearbox is being phased out. I'm glad I picked up my 6MT F83 over the summer. I will keep it forever (along with my 5MT E39)!

These renderings all look like completely bullshit p-chops of the existing car... Can we please save the shitty p-chops for when the G chassis cars are on sale, please?

All the down play and talk on how bad or ugly the G80 is or electric sucks on the motor but i would bet alot of the talkers will buy/lease one when it comes out.

seems pretty spot on in terms of specs. render seems to align with the direction of goofier and ornamental front ends with squashed headlights and tails

Feedback welcome. Cheers.

Right, I agree and I probably used the wrong technical term when I said parasitic loss. I was referring to whatever exhaust back pressure that may exist giving it's not as free flowing because of the turbos. It may simply not matter like it can with a NA motor. I don't have enough technical knowledge to speak to this with any certainty. Not sure how exhaust scavenging and velocity impacts an I6 turbo engine. Anyone with experience on this would be great to hear from.
You're almost there bro.... the best benefit to electrically spooled turbos is an improved sounding exhaust note! No turbo turbine to muffle the sound. Bring back the s85 v10 sound!

As a Coloradan, I'd love an M that isn't a seasonal car.

I actually like it...not sure about those triangle things on the door; but I can see driving it especially if it's 493HP is correct; hoping that will be the final output on the X3M!

Then why not go to a dealer and buy any M that is currently offered.

LSD+Winter Tires+Manual Transmission will give you more control in the snow than 90% of the cars on the road, including the idiots in the subarus with no season tires

That is sooo ugly from the side and back. Does not scream performance at all. It screams Audi 100. M3 is more than this. Good start w the bumper. Was the bottom grill borrowed from a KIA? There is NO design language here, just bits and pieces borrowed from other car manufacturers and eras. Sorry.

Eh. Look at when everyone was rendering the f8x. Front and back looked ugly as hell on those renderings too. I’ll wait for the real thing.

Climb performance. Everyone knows AWD is the go fast in winter. Those of us that live in the mountains need climb performance and that's where AWD comes in. Anyone that's familiar with I-70 knows you need AWD + winter tires. An M is a hell of a commitment to leave in your garage until the clear months. Let's be honest, the majority of M owners use it as a primary driver so ideally it'd be all weather capable.
