The 911 is not a practical daily driver and the back seats are useless, so not sure that you can compare the M4/M3 with a 911 two completely different cars.

While we are at it..
718 GTS 4.0 6MT with comfort access is only like 6k more than my almost base M3 6MT build.

718 GTS 4.0 is $88,950 with comfort access and nothing else. M3 6MT with metallic paint, upgrade wheels, carbon interior, and exec pack is $9600 less at $79,345 and I wouldn't call that "almost base". Additionally very soon there will be discounts on the M3, BMW leases are comparably cheap if that's your thing, and there will not be discounts on the 718 GTS. And don't forget the 718 GTS is competition for the M2, not M3 and that price gap is at least $27k. Do you fall into JCali86 category #2? Next you guys are gonna say the Earth is flat and QAnon is right. |

He hates how the car looks like and tries to talk it down with "objective" arguments.
That's all about. That's why i jumped out of the discussion because he just puts the arguments like he wants even though he compares apples with oranges instead of comparing with the direct competitors in which BMW, ironically, is the cheapest. |

You must also consider the conditions of purchase (discount, leasing rates).
On this, Bmw is "cheaper" (lol) than the list price suggests compared to Porsche. There's nothing wrong with paying more for a better car, but you can't compare them. |

Black Sapphire G82 M4 at the dealer
Tell me about it, mine is being born this summer, G80 M3 wasn't even in my mind before knowing it
@Transfer I was being sarcastic, I also hate it when ppl compare things that don't. And I also forgot to say "where I live", its surprising how the price of cars is different from country to country.

Amen brother. I will be ordering one of them myself. Been waiting for a bad ass wagon to him MERICA. Suspension, wheels, downpipes and a tune!!! You have yourself a fun little wagon. Have my golf clubs/groceries and still smoke the new M cars. LOL It will suck getting rid of my M4 cause I do like it. Maybe an AWD M car will be in my future

Well I'm glad you all feel so strongly, it's great to have passion and to have different opinions. I wasn't trying to be purposefully antagonistic (guess it comes naturally) I'm sure the new m3 & m4's will be great cars in their own right and I'm sure those of you with a vested interest will continue to have these conversations in various threads (not with me I might add) but I'm glad that a portion of the community is still passionate about the new cars and their looks and are willing to defend it, we ultimately need people like you to continue supporting the brand as developer of driver oriented performance cars, especially for this generation of cars. I hope like an inbred cousin, that the current designs are a generational blip and it changes to something more to my tastes in time for my next upgrade. I guess I can always rely on Alpina if not. Good luck with your purchases and many more argumentative sods like me that are to come! Enjoy

I always love reading how everybody is jumping to a Porsche, but few actually ever do (...props to the few that have). After all, for as long as I've been on BMW forums, that phenomenon has existed. It's just fodder. The sticker shock jumping from an M to the equivalent P-Car is mind blowing. I personally wouldn't want anything less than a GT2/3, otherwise I'll stick to M's.
