Not really. I recommend a towel.

One should always have a towel with them. Never know when you'll need to hitchhike off this rock...

The best glass cleaner I found that doesn't leave any streaks at all is denatured alcohol in distilled water. The ratios for glass cleaner can be found on most denatured alcohol containers.

The car wont turn off when I’m working on it and the dam WiFi keeps hijacking my phone.
I literally deleted my phone from the car today so I could look up something on the internet without being fucked with by the dam car.
I’ve tried to stream music to my garage stereo. Car keeps butting in and disconnecting wifi.
Where is the dam off switch for this car!

If you have an iPhone, what I like to do is go into the Bluetooth settings, click on the car while it's connected, and toggle off Apple CarPlay. This generally works for me when I'm near my car, but it keeps hijacking my Bluetooth connection when I'm trying to watch something.

Nothing like getting gas and having your car beep, lock and mirrors fold 4 times because you moved 5'.

And can you have the radio turn the hell off when you turn the car off? Once again looking like some D-Bag getting gas or parking your car. Stupid radio playing for no reason.

Rant partially over.

The fact that controlling exhaust volume is such a convoluted process. The volume changes depending on whether you are in comfort, sport of sport plus. And then there is the button that (kind of) further changes exhaust sound in each of the three settings. Why not just have two modes (quiet and loud) and let the driver use them regardless of the drive mode?

I’m annoyed that there isn’t a good sound system or at least being able to option one. I was almost ready to order one but waiting it out to see what other cars are out there that are great driving machines AND have a fantastic audio system. Seems like an easy thing BMW could do.

Agreed! SW coding could go up a notch or two. The wand wash is a trip man. Sticking to hand wash.

The Harmon Kardon system isn't nearly as bad as the forums can make it out to be. Especially after you customize the EQ which makes a world of difference. It's perfectly decent.

This is my opinion having a pure two channel system worth almost as much as the car.

+1. Have to agree with this . Sure the HK system is not the best in the world but it is certainly above average compared to other stock systems. It is very sensitive to eq settings (sounds flat with out adjustments) and comes into its own with high quality source material.

I think the audio system is fine for a 30-40k car. I think it is severely lacking in the G80/G82/G83. There is basically no bass below 60hz. I get it, can’t get deep base from any 8” driver IMO. Amp is also weak. I intend to replace all the drivers with Focal drivers and add an external amp and 10-12” Focal sub in the trunk. Then I may go for the Alpha one for more power to the mids/tweeters. For the price of this car I really expected more. I guess on the bright side it’s not a Blose system 😂

Turning off ASD helps as does tweaking the eq but for me I want harder hitting bass. Not “wake the neighbors” hard hitting bass but certainly more than I have now.

There is a delay built in that you can change in Bimmercode, so it starts moving immediately after pressing the button.

OK, come to my house and customize it for me. Because no matter what I've done, I can't get it to sound even half as good as even the garbage Bose system in my wife's Cayenne.

Yea I don’t have this issue. Maybe I am more patient to wait 1 second. I press the button and walk away and it closes.

I've had the G80 three weeks now.
--The center console cupholders are terrible with the manual transmission. I hit my knuckles on anything in them shifting into 1-3-5. The door cupholders work great, though.
--Trunk release. It just doesn't work consistently. Seems like a common complaint here.
--iD8: No scrolling through songs in the HUD like you could with iD7.

Could you share your EQ settings? I did a "V", boosting the lower and upper frequencies a few notches. Seems to sound a little better.

Caution/danger traffic warnings which occasionally pop up on the display. For example objects in the road, slippery conditions, etc. Have yet to figure out how to disable it in the system.

100%. When I stream Qobuz (HiRes or not), it's night and day versus Spotify even on the G8x HK system. I'm sure FLAC local files would improve on that still.

Quality of input, quality of output. Doesn't matter if it's a million dollar system.

I should have prefaced that adjusting EQ won't suddenly make it some crazy world beating system, but it's far from bad and certainly better than factory or just using treble and bass adjustment. EQ comes down to personal preference, type of music, and your ears but I'll share what I've settled on when I get home tonight.

This guy gives a good EQ overview too, mine is not too dissimilar.
