The first pics of the mules on the car carrier where we could make out the enormous grilles underneath the camo seem like decades ago.

LCI probably going to be around mid to late 2022, as a MY2023 if we compare to timeline from previous generations

For the M3,
LCI #1 will be timed with the 3 series and covering the tail lights (which is shares with the 3), 7/22 production, 2023 USA model year
LCI #2 will be timed with the 4 series and cover the headlights (which is shared with the 4), i assume 7/24 production, 2025 is model year

For the m4 just a single LCI timed with the 4 series covering both ends

M car reveals, and almost all new car reveals, have become quite predictable. Used to be that everything was up for grabs . . . Completely new engines every year, much more differentiation in interiors, each product was more unique . . . Now, with modular platforms and engine architectures and corporate interiors, there's no more surprise. We've known exactly what this car would be for a year and a half. The engine is already available in the X3M.

It doesn't help there are 19 variants of the allegedly top of the line model. It's just not exciting or special anymore. It's like a PlayStation ... slim ... pro ... even more pro. It's obnoxious and dilutes the product

On the contrary, they strategically "leaked" in an effort to keep interest up and also allow time for naysayers and haters to warm up. Most of us are pretty much at the acceptance phase by this point. We already know what it will look like. Most of us just want to know what the official performance figures are going to be.

LOL, this is way easier to do than you think b/c we don't have to do anything. Its the other way around, BMW needs to make something really compelling to get us to spend our money, especially 90k on a car in a middle of a pandemic and global recession. I'm pretty sure you will get a good deal with seemingly a ton of us hating the way it looks and just waiting for things to get back to normal.

If we compare timelines from the last two gens the G80 will get updated before the G82.

Let's hope they listen to their customers this time and change the front grill a little for the LCI

E30...still by far the prettiest face, like a little red jewel.

And it’s the most different face, hopefully the G8X will provide a change from the rest like that of the E30 and while it won’t be prettier than the E30 it should be the meanest most badass of the bunch
