Does this hood gap look right to you

So I was washing my car today and noticed that my hood gap looks pretty big. Not sure if this is normal or if something is off.

You can see the mounting brackets from the outside. It's hard to see in the pics

Don't have my M3 yet to tell, but based on what the Germans claim to be good at, looks pretty wide

Someone found a solution

Solution

1 - Open the hood and locate the hood clamps.

2 - Tighten the hex head screw on the side where the gap is larger (right or left).

3 - Close the hood and check. Repeat the steps until the gap is gone

That looks exactly like mine did when I received it.

I knew I'd be getting the Vorsteiner grille so when the time came, maybe AutoCouture could fix the gap. Lo and behold they did. I'm not very well informed in terms how to fix these so I really panicked. It's nice to see the fix is easy.

I've attached a photo of what it looked like before and the best pic of what I have now. The other side of the hood actually looked worse but now it looks perfect as it should - it's a huge difference.

In fact, I actually recorded a video of when I first noticed it too. I sent an email to AutoCouture and was told it was something they can look into when I get the grille installed. Here it is: https://youtu.be/rttLMG4QsWg

100% wrong and the Germans are usually very good at this.

Immediate fix at the dealer.

I will say it is possible to close/latch just one side of the hood if you close it too slow. I did this the other day then immediately looked at the car and thought "that looks really wide/misaligned with the other side..." Gave a little push on the "open" side and it went right back to looking normal. I assume folks have tried this, but throwing it out since it caught me off guard.

I watched this video earlier. It seems there's a lot of adjustment points to get right on the front end to get that gap perfect. Don't know why it would have left the factory like that.

That is about 5 times as wide as mine. No way should you accept it. A Chevy Cruise is better.

I had to align mines - had the same issue. I took the screws/clips off the top front of the bumper, pushed it in, turn the hood pins a few, and adjusted the rubber bump stop for the good. It's perfect now. My last car had to do the same.

Is there a charge for the break in service, if so what's the cost and what exactly do they do?

Do i need to loosen the bolt to turn the hood latches?
