People always said that M cars were too tame. With the new 4 there was more opportunities to bring the appearance to a new era.

When you see both M3 and M4 you will see how more radical these cars are in regards to proportion, stance and in case of the M4 it's more dynamic profile allowing for its inclusion for Motorsport.
Definitely M4 has more muscle than a conventional M440i Coupe.

The new Aerodynmics offer a new interpretation of the current look that has been around for almost two decades. Again highly sculpted to provide function over form.

The new exclusive to the M3/M4 hood symbolises Motorsport history especially with Coupes adapted for Motorsport such as the E9,E30 and E24. The lines recessed at the top of the grille allows the bonnet to be higher when it runs along the centre of the car without resorting to a power dome.

The competition Wheel design was shown in a recent spy photograph of the M3.

Both M3 and M4 will cater to more performance and aerodyanmic appearance down the line of this generation.

The problem is, 90%< of owners just get these cars as daily drivers and don't track them. So their primary focus is appearance. Which this car is severely lacking.

Not for me. I get the nod to the past but no. This isn't right. The lines are all off, the science may different for performance and handling; but as others have said, my god.

Enthusiats are a very very small piece of the overall pie. There is a handful of people on these forums that hate the design and claim to not ever be willing to buy one but there will be many millions more average Joe's out there who will part with the money for these machines. So you hate it, we get it but you're in the minority. The sales of the cars will prove it as they have been for years.

Also BMWs sell on badge alone even with controversial styling. So clearly the people buying these cars must not have an issue with them.

I really am not excited about this car and BMW's design language in general. Someone needs to take the damn pen away from Hooydonk, he is clearly drunk.
Dont worry an optional CF hood with real vents will be available for 5000

Since when is a hood indent a fake grill?

There is no blind grill or intake to be seen.

Just a design indent.

This so much this, pretty much sums up quite a lot of people on this forums, who gets this type of cars they do not track them they only drive them during certain times of the year, cause winter takes to hard toll on them even though all these cars are tested for winter seasons.

So imagine this a car of this type loaded with decent amount of equipment landing at a price of 92 560$ that only will be driven pretty much on weekends and only during the 6-7 months of spring/summer/early autumn.

How big of a crowd of car owners is that, yet they are the most vocal on these forums.

And if this crowd of car owners is huge witch it probably could be i have no idea, then people have either way to much money in their pockets and way to much free time on their hands to focus so much energy on disliking a certain design element of a car.

The new M3/M4 will probably be very good and loads of people commenting on these forums "I wont buy it, yada yada, i will go over to porsche, yada yada" so well then go on, but please on your way to Porsche witch is probably great cars also, please close down your account on these forums and stop spewing your toxic opinion on these forums, we have already heard it and the jokes and your complaints about the new design are getting old fast.

F*** ugly. The G80 generation is dead in the water for me. Not bad save my $$$ and enjoy my F80 a few more years. Then something else. I thought I’d always own an M3 but this is so dumb ugly I can’t even think about it.

Who the F*** came up with this pile ?

Did they really have to already disfigure the barely fresh bold iconic new front fascia identity of the 4er?!

Whereas the 4er's headlights connect to the grille corners via a clearly visible crease which creates a slightly shaded area underneath that gives the front fascia a focused/frowned/mean prey bird look that fully makes up for any potential awkwardness related to the vertical grille novelty, that same headlight-to-grille area on the M3/M4 is as flat and smooth as an extreme leftist's brain surface and creates a dull boring 80s-90s generic Japanese sedan gaze, which is further enhanced by the empty borderless jutting out grille that looks like an organ has been ripped out. This is literally appalling.

It looks sharp and well packaged to me. A lot of potential IMO. And I like it a little more watching all you whine about it.

You cry babies have been bitching about every new M model, if not every new BMW design in general, since the e60. It happens every. fucking. time. You guys do realize this right? In a couple years half of you will own one and totally forget how much you hated it at first. People don't like change, we get it. The f80/82 is what we picture when we think new m3/4, and they've grown on us and in our minds over the years and look so great, it's hard to imagine such a radical change to it. But it's progress forward. The designers don't just pull this out of their ass and run with it. They make prototypes, full clay models, dozens of variants and stare at them for hours from every angle to ensure they feel right. I guarantee a few months after the official release, once the shock factor wears off and the design starts to sink and grow on you, almost all of you will come around. Just like last time. And the time before that.

If enthusiasts had it our way we would rarely change shit and every new BMW would still look like an e30. And while that would actually be pretty sick (see?), BMW would've went bankrupt by 1996 with that strategy and we wouldn't have anything. So deal with it, open your mind, and put a little faith in the designers at BMW because IMO as stupid or crazy as anything's ever been at first, it's always worked out especially for the M3/4/5. Hell I even the bangled ass e60 M5 ended up not being so bad in the end :rofl
