Can’t say I care for any of this stuff, but this is typical for the M Perf releases on modern cars. Iirc the M2 had goofy looking vinyl as well and “wings for winners”

I might be interested in a few of those parts individually and would be curious to see the exhaust in person.

And yea, I thought the same thing about Dukec in that picture. Is he wearing sweatpants? Certainly appears to go with the apparent intended demographic of the car. You never would have caught old school BMW dressed like that trying to peddle a $75k car.

And WTH was that point of that M performance video they made? It tells me nothing about the M performance parts.
I don't think they're sweats. The white sneakers make it look like sweats. I think it's just a cheap suit. Either way, not a good look for him.

Holy shit BMW has really lost its way. Literally every design cue that used to make a BMW is gone. Good bye BMW. It was nice knowing you. Wont ever be back to BMW after the current gen

I think, when tastefully chosen and installed on a tastefully configured G8X, a proper combination of those M-Performance parts can definitely improve the cars visual appeal.

Not sure we can go C63 route.... 4cyl turbo engine on the next generation.... Yuckkkk....

Can't believe I am saying this but I almost prefer M3 over M4... Need to see them in person.

Also, if Bmw can move a 4400 lbs M5 on a track, 7:38 on the ring then I am sure same or similar will apply here.

And I am sure some will say it's not all about the track times and they are not wrong. M2 CS fits nicely for those people or even Cayman GT4.

The M tax is going to be insanely high on this car. I like that BMW is offering an even larger amount of options than before. They are trying to capture more of the aftermarket share. Wether you like the styling or it it's good to know there are quality OEM options.

I would agree, but having tracked an M5Comp, it was fast but not much fun compared to smaller/lighter cars. I ran well, but it felt bizarre driving such a big car at the limit (at least to me, an intermediate driver).

Hideous. Makes me want to puke. Looks like they're targeting the Honda Civic crowd.

All the comments about the grill and the front? Does no one know BMW history? They were doing huge grills for years up the the mid 50's. It's just back to their roots.

The grills on the X7 and 7 series look odd - this flows like the old BMW's with large grills did.

This happens in every generation. When the first buyers start modding them and tracking them, the rest will want to play with the new toy too. The cycle continues.

Clearly this is our punishment for calling base M3s, the “Civic M3”. They took it literally and gave us a M3 Type R.

We only have ourselves to blame.

On the forthcoming C63, I've heard from reliable sources that the Mercedes F1 PU team in Brixworth have had a hand in re-designing the turbo and some of the hybrid element designs on the C63, bringing some of the innovation over from the Project One hypercar.

It's losing heritage with no V8, but in terms of introducing some contemporary F1 tech in a production car, think it may catch some people's attention.
