Seems like it is the case. I got an allocation and a production number on 2/26 and on 3/1 a BMW Genius confirmed my build week is 16. Another Bay Area dealer had the same week available around the same time.

I'm in Puerto Rico and put the order on 01/13/2024. I call my salesperson last week and the status still shows 047 Spec release, no quota available. I guess the wait will be painful since that's the only authorized BMW dealership in the island.
