Beautiful spec. I think you will be surprised at just how good this car is after learning and driving it over the next few days.

Just saw on the news a cargo ship hit a bridge which collapsed. I wonder if anybody was expecting a car at the port? Prob will be delayed and the follow on destinations may be as well?!

That said, ships are rarely BMW-only, so there may be other impact. I believe Mercedes offloads at Hawkins Point, which IS past the bridge. |

Or would the incoming traffic be diverged to other port cities. |

I would think they would divert the ships to other surrounding ports. For Brooklands (ship at Sparrow point which has my car) I wonder if they could just hit up Brunswick and Charleston and then swing back around to Dundalk/Baltimore on their back to EU...

It the big piture however the human cost to anyone hurt or killed out ways car shippments. I would assumse the 1000's working in this area for the port are also going to see mass furloughs with no shipping to handle for what could be months. We shall see but I think we wont know for weeks. |

I know someone who works in the port area, just spoke with him. That bridge is also the main truck route since most cannot get through the tunnel due to size. So expect delays with cars already at the port. My car just arrived at that port a few days ago and its still at the port.

I’m so sad for the six workers.
I do think BMW VDC at Sparrow’s Point will be okay since it’s before the Francis Scott Key Bridge. It will take longer to get around the closures. |

Once the recovery is complete, I can only assume that the absolute top priority will be clearing the debris out of the center of the channel so the port can reopen. Hopefully for those workers, that chunk of effort will be weeks and not months. |

I called bmw genius yesterday and asked them about the port. He said, the port where the cars are unloaded a, is before the Bridge. The local traffic due to the bridge collapse is going to affect the distribution and trucks leaving the port but shouldn’t cause any major delays.

Change to PCD as then you’ll disembark in Charleston. I know it’s not possible, but wonder if customers who’s dealership vehicles went via Baltimore to be imported now choose PCD to avoid Baltimore.

Baltimore is the first stop on the way to Charleston so unless they reorder the stops (not even sure how possible it is once the ship is loaded) then there will be a wait unfortunately.
