If you decide to test this please let me know. You helped me with some coding on my E90 before

Obviously BC has been working on our model. I plugged mine for the very first time and selected my model ( I have the Fly Beta) I did the Bowers & Wilkins DSP ( jury still out) and nothing else.

How does one obtain this superfly beta?

I think when I had my Supra I wanted to know when they would support it, they replied with a link to it and it just keeps updating. So, I asked I guess.

Thanks! I'll see if they'll send it to me

I'm sure this is elsewhere in the thread, but for those just checking in a reminder that you have to put the G8x into diagnostic mode (hit the start/stop button 3 times quickly) before Bimmercode will connect.

Not willing to share how much time, and how many adaptors I tried yesterday before I actually read the manual more closely and realized I missed that part. Sheesh.

So, I remember doing that, but the last few times I haven't and it has worked fine. Maybe I was doing that with my previous adaptor? I can't remember now.

Fwiw I'm using an ENET cable and not a wifi or BT adaptor.

My wifi OBD reader works just fine with the Torque app, but Bimmercode needs the car in diag mode first in order to connect *shrug*

In my experience, that only held true for some settings. But then, I'm using a BT connection, so that may affect it.

I was under the impression that disabling Anti Dazzle, weakened the Laser Light output by 300 meters. I think the EU light output was 600 meters, while enabling Anti Dazzle, it was only 300 meters for the US. I would think that change would be immediately noticeable. If thats the case, I'm interested. Id also like DRL and the remote close windows.

I didn't notice any difference in light output.

My goodness, once Anti Dazzle is coded in to the cameras, the laser light show at night is simply amazing to me. It's now one of my favorite features of the entire car. I loved night drives before, but I look forward to the sun setting even more now. {Thanks, Alm!}

10+ years ago when the first BMW enthusiast nerds discovered and released coding options for BMWs, I now can fully appreciate what they exposed us too. That single act (or maybe hundreds of little acts) has decidedly improved the ownership of our cars today, with us basically being able to "customize" our cars using the factory's own coding language. And then we've had German BMW enthusiasts who helped translate German for us since much of the detailed coding language is in their home language.

Cheers to the original mechanics, software experts, geeks and translators who all combined to lead us to where we are today.

Which part? The movement and shaping of the beams or the intensity of the light?

Both, JK. The movement of the light is indeed incredible to see, all to avoid blinding cars in front of you. But also the intensity of the lasers is awesome, as I can now see well into the trees and brush to look for deer that may be hanging out on the edges of the roadways, ready to make a dash.

And when you're rounding a curve, the laser high beams will bend into the turn, fully lighting up where you're headed out the side window.

It's just deluxe. So sad that this isn't simply a standard option for American BMWs, yet.

You had your G8X coded for Anti Dazzle?

Yes, because I'm in the U.S. ...thus, to my knowledge, coding is the only way to get this feature. Is there some other way that I'm unaware of?

And do non-U.S. G8Xs with lasers come with this Anti-Dazzle feature already built into the car?

What's the process, and who do we contact, to have this coding done to our cars?

Thanks in advance for any info that you can share!

Yes, it's standard in Germany. They delete it for US cars. Citing DOT regulation or some BS.

@Almaretto helped me code anti-dazzle on my G82. He's fantastic, he remotely coded all the needed modules. I haven't had any issues and, in my opinion, is one of the most valuable features to code on. I recommend reaching out to see if he can help you too!

The other route is learning eSysX

You can contact kubax86 . He does remote coding from Europe. You just need an Enet cable. His price is very reasonable too.

Can this feature be turned off/on or is it permanent once coded?
