While I have no illusion about being able to distinguish them in a blind test, I can add another data point: 826M bi-color on an Anglesey green (individual color) car with Michelins, just arrived.

This survey seems to indicate pirellis are slightly higher in volume on all wheel types. Unless those with pirellis are more compelled to fill out the survey.

There seems to be a solid preference for 826M wheels. How come? I’m guessing because they have a more “traditional” race type look. But majority of the BMW promo pics I’m seeing the 825M wheel, so it’s surprising that adoption rate isn’t higher. I’m guessing the tide will turn a bit with the release of the 825M in all silver.

In UK, BMW configurator 826M are default. Last weekend was at car supermarket looking for a second car. Sales reps were asking what alloy wheels types my G80 had, they had F82 themselves and wanted an upgrade. Seems that alloy wheel model is very popular in general, for UK at least.

The black? Imagine it’s because the trim and rockers and diffuser and front mesh are black.

Not just black, but per the poll 826Ms are significantly more popular. The sample size seems appropriate to draw conclusions.

Ah. The 826 wheels are more complicated like the f80 comp before it. I think they are more attractive myself. Hard to clean though. I had the orbit grey wheels last time, and they were nice but gave the car a more mature look and less of an aggressive, sporty one imho.

It’s interesting to see how the PZ4 performs compared to the PS4 and the Tire test data can provide valuable insights but wearing well is definitely an important factor to consider when choosing a car. I’m pretty confident I could tell the difference between the two in a blind test.

Really hope I get the PS4S with my burnished style 826Ms!

I swapped to the PS4S on the rear of my C63S and it was night and day compared to the PZeros for RWD traction. It was like I suddenly had AWD…it was incredible.

That said I’ve had the PZero on my F-Pace SVR and they’ve been absolutely fine for an SUV handling the power to all 4 wheels. They’re toast after 3 summers though.

I got PZero with BG and 826M Black. AS I said earlier I dont think I would know the difference with Sears Whitewalls.

There was SBM with Michelin's but I did catch the wheel style in the delivery bay. Maybe he slipped them a few hundred to swap the tires.

Never tried a Pirelli tire until now, they seem alright minus the road noise. Man these tires are so noise compared to my PS4S tires on my other car. For that reason alone I’m looking forward to switch them out at some point.

Issue is trying to find PS4’s. My 2024 X5 M60 22” rims came with PZ’s, but have had no luck 🍀 finding PS4 via Costco. At least my ‘21 G83 ZCP with black 826M has PS4S, but next year (around 11 months), will be an other G8x tire lottery.

I’m in no rush. I’ll probably deal with the noise and drive on these until they wear a bit.

It looks like I can't vote more than once, but ended up with the Pirellis (826M), again.
