Ok so we have had a few polls back when we were working off renders or we were rating our subjective impressions of the 4 series grille. Now that they are in dealers across the world, and many (if not most of us) have seen the cars in person, let's have at it.

If you have not seen the car, please do not vote until you get that opportunity.

In terms of the design language/aesthetics, do you like the car or dislike it?

maybe a better poll would be those who hated who now like it. As I have been saying that since the beginning a lot of people who hate it will prob end up liking it and buying it.
when I finally saw it I must say it def looks better in person then pics. I also can't wait to see it modded as I know the forum members have some great taste when it comes to modding cars

Focal lengths and too low of picture angles do this car no justice. Some pictures properly represent what it's like seeing it in person but most do not.

I've seen it twice now - first a couple of weeks ago and the second time this past weekend when I put in my order. Here's the thing; I think it'll grow on me even more.

The more I look at pictures on here and imagine what it will look like modded, the more excited I am. Unfortunately, it's not a car that particularly photographs well especially with the front end. Some other times I see a white one and I question myself again.

But I know that it will drive well and be much more upscale overall.

Bottom line is I think it's a car you buy for you. We need to stop seeking outside approval even if it is the natural thing to do so. It is your hard earned money to spend how you see fit. I know I'm excited to drive mine.

I was skeptical when the leaks first appeared and then once the official photos were released but after seeing it in person, I'm definitely a believer now. Looks so much better in person than it does in photos, IMHO. Can't wait to eventually make this one my first M car. Now it is just a matter of timing and if I want to also wait for the LCI on the M3 or not since it really isn't that far off.

Like i mentioned in a different post, i think the initial issue that everyone had was that the first picture we saw of the front of the car was the black and white bumper, which on it's own looks freaking bizarre as hell. Then there was that hood. If you're looking at just the one piece, it is such a departure from the norm that it stands out and not in a good way.
When the car is put together it looks much better than photographed. In real life, you get a sense of dimension. The whole thing flows much more as proportions start to make sense visually.
Who knows, maybe the LCI will change the front of these cars altogether, guess it really depends on what happens in the next few months.

I was a hater early on all around, then a hater on the grille only, now after seeing both G80/82 I can easily tolerate the grille and the rest of the car is killer.

Nope, still looks pretty sucky. I also haven’t seen it with our plates yet which is “required” in CO...can’t imagine that will help. But hey, there’s three pedals and four doors, and that is hard to beat.

I've never bought an M3 and am a new customer because of how awesome it looks compared to anything else on the road. You win some, you lose some.

In person it is exactly how I imagined based on photos and the 3 looks better than the 4. I was surprised though by how great IOMG looks in person, I really hope they keep it exclusive to WBS cars. If I was purchasing, it would absolutely be a G80 in IOMG. IOMG with possibly an individual cinnamon/golden brown interior would be an immense combo. SPY is a top contender for worst current production car color, I’m sorry but it’s atrocious and is a straight rip of Tonic Yellow from the Civic Si. I did really like the carbon seats though I don’t know if I would fork out for them at sticker as the regular seats looked nice as is. Overall I do think for most it really is just a front fascia away from being a strong purchase contender

The front end initially was a little jarring to me when the first photos released, but over the last few months it's really grown on me. Finally got to see one in person when I went to place my order and it looks 100 times better than my initial impression of it was.

I liked the look from the previews and seeing it in person convinced me to order one.

The lower part of the rear corners are the worst part of the car. It didn't look good on an M2, it doesn't look good here.
