We've never had a pandemic with supply shortages in modern history. This changes everything.

Also in my personal situation I live in an area that does little to no discounts in a normal year without shortages. I think we're in for MSRP for the long haul.

My order is in. The system wouldn't allow me to order the 826M black wheels. Anyone else run into this?

Got the M4 allocation but thinking about changing color

I have ordered M4, and I was lucky enough to get a production slot in June. The dealer told me that I was very lucky because they applied for 8 M production slots, and got only mine in June, others are pending.

I am now thinking about changing the exterior and interior colors on my configuration (from SG/BL to BG/KO), but my dealer told me that this might bump my production slot to unknown date.

Does anyone know how that works? If I change color is it possible to get postponed to end of year or something like that? Or do they just accept that in factory and leave it in June? Any advice is appreciated

Yes black 826M isn't available at the moment for some reason

It's either that or it's stock said the dealer, which I doubt

the unknown date was affecting 2021, but a lot of that has cleared up

the dealer can try to change it, see if it changes to 105 status (unknown production date)

If that happens, then you can change it back or wait a week or so to see if it goes back into 111/112 status

It happened to a few cars I built with dealers. 105 when I we added tanzanite from arctic, then 4 days later it was 112 status again with the tanzanite

So are you guys ordering from the dealer or online? When I'm on the BMW website it doesn't give me an AWD option nor say it's available

How are you guys getting this?
Does the dealer have to send you a link or something?

So sure I paid MSRP which at first looks like a bad deal but it’s actually one of the best deals I got on a new car in a while because I have $8,000 in equity on my current lease which I will buy out early. Used car prices are insane right now so only make sense that new car prices are up as well. If not, used would cost more than new. This won’t last forever either way. I could wait a year, get maybe a $3,000 discount and turn in my lease when it’s up then tell everyone what a great discount I got.

Not sure I understand

The dealer needs a production # to fill it with your order whether it's individual or not

Are you sure they have a build allocation?

Not doubting your dealer...just strange not to give your a production number on the spot.

This is actually a good way of looking at it.

It's like selling and buying a house in a hot market. You paid up to get the new house, but you got top dollar to get out of your old one.

But if you are crazy like me, I want top dollar on my old one, and insane discount on my new one lol

Not sure I fully understand either! 😂

I asked if they got allocations today and he said they did and that my order was in. I asked for the production number and then he said he'd have it as soon as the order was accepted. 🤷🏻*♂️ Not really sure what that means at this point. He's been super honest so far and has always been on point back when I was doing my previous order before deciding to go individual and getting bumped to having to wait for 22MY.

That's good logic and justifies your decision a s it's reasonable. But paying $10K markup knowing that you can get a discount over MSRP in a few months is illogical.
