Trunk cargo net
Am ordering this trunk cargo net for my new M4: https://www.amazon.com/EACCESSORIES-...4&sr=1-10&th=1. Cheap enough to try, and toss if not perfect.
Saw this elsewhere in the M3/4 Bimmerpost threads but it is not explicitly M4 comparable and 2x the cost. https://www.amazon.com/Floor-Style-T.../dp/B01B8S1GBO

Do you have mounts for the hooks to clip onto in the trunk?

I see 4 metal D-rings in the trunk area that should work for a lie-flat net. There are two plastic hooks that might also be used with the two rear-most D-rings for a stand-up net. Those plastic hooks look like what you would find in a back seat to hang up shirts you are bringing home from a laundry, only not as robust. If I use them for a net I may replace them with metal hardware.
My C63s had a factory lie-flat net that I found good for bring home a pizza but not much else, whereas my SLK55 had a stand-up net that worked very well for things like bagged groceries, etc.

I should've taken my 2015 SQ5 cargo net. It was a high quality non-afterthought. Everything held in place no matter how unsmoothly I drove.
My 2020 M240ix net was useless. I rarely use the trunk plastic hooks but they do a decent job if you hook the outside handle over the inside. I use the passenger side inset compartment for trapping a gallon jug. Slight on topic, but not really.... For my M4CX this handles 3 good-size grocery bags. Folds flat easily. Four small velcro strips keep it from moving in trunk: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 |

Cargo hooks are the same in my G82 as what DrDeep illustrates above in his M3. The plastic hooks just below the rear window are for plastic grocery bags, not anything heavy duty.
As for cargo nets, I accumulated several from earlier BMWs and simply deploy one when needed (looks like DrDeep's; might have originally come from an E83 or E39). The BMW OEM nets are good quality, in my 30 years' experience with them. |

Here is a picture Dr.Deep put in this thread (TY). The problem is that BMW puts the rings up on the trunk sides rather than on the trunk floor (poor engineering; look in a C-series car and you will see the difference immediately). The two layer, pouch-like OEM net from my C63s would be more useful.

When I turned in my 2018 F80 I kept its cargo net. It fits myG82 perfectly. YMMV.
