Sound clip for those who are considering this mid-pipe.

REVIEW: In efficient mode it is quiet and will not upset your neighbors, but in Sport Plus with the valves open you get a great sound and a lot of gurgles, which is exactly what I wanted. Around 4,200rpm the note becomes more high pitched when driving (a tad raspy, but not overwhelming) and gear changes sound much sportier. Overall, super happy with the sound and a great option for the price. Thanks for the hookup Mike!

Let's please get more clips! Also is it louder on cold start than stock valves closed? Also can we get a sound clip of when our cars make the super loud bangs high in the rev range when downshifting?

If valves are closed at cold start it is just like stock exhaust, maybe a tiny louder, but you're not waking anyone up. It is definitely louder on cold starts with valves open and you can actually hear the exhaust notes throughout the rev range and not just at higher RPMs anymore. Gear shifts are also definitely more pronounced with a bang at higher RPMs, more like a GT car (but obviously not as loud). It is still a refined sound and not obnoxious but it will turn heads and scream when you push it. I have drive by videos but they are worthless--too much background traffic noise. Difficult for me to find the time to get out of the busy city to capture a good driving video. Maybe someone else can post. Otherwise, I am sure I will get some at the next meet local meet up.

It os difficult to write how something sounds. There are a few videos in this thread and on the forum. Take a look.

All I can say is with the valves closed you will not notice a difference from stock and with valves open the tones are deeper and more pronounced.

curious as to why one would go with the single over the x pipe design, and vice versa...

the sound is very similar in person. the single has a slightly deeper mid-range tone, the X-pipe has a slightly louder high RPM tone.

Couple questions for people that have paired the single mid pipe with OEM or MPE rear...

1) Is the cut on the OEM exhaust done on the middle dimple like the PSI pipe?

2) With the AA pipe, is there a noticeable buzzing during cold start? Some of us with the PSI pipe have recognized this. I understand both pipes are non-resonated, but I'm wondering if the merge location has any say in that.

Is this the only difference? Just curious since it must have taken a lot of R&D to only get a small sound difference.

I have the single midpipe (which I actually ordered from you ) on my F80 and liked it a lot.

AA shipped out my midpipe today! Absolutely chuffed to have my car transformed by this time next week. So glad that they/Rob saw the shitty situation I had been put in and were able to get me one very quickly.

There's a reason I waited for AA's single midpipe over Valvetronic. Customer service is absolutely paramount; AA always had me because of the quality of their products, they officially have me as a lifelong customer because of their customer service.

I don't think many would be interested in the way my car will sound but I'll post a small clip or two when it's done. I'll have: MAD catless downpipe -> AA single midpipe -> Remus race.
