Open recalls, campaigns, or stop sales. This is interesting because as of a few days ago I was showing as being affected by the main bearing shell issue.

While part of me is relieved by this part of me is also wondering if everything is above board or whether once BMW investigates further a new recall or campaign will be launched.

Any way to check if VIN has been cleared other than my CA/ dealar?
As illogical as this might sound, my CA appears to be in the dark or just failed to be transparent disclosing accurate info (even before this issue).
Yes, call BMW Genius hotline. They just opened. I was just informed that there is no longer a stop sale on my car, so will be picking her up today.
Just got off the phone with BMW Genius and still no update. They keep saying my vehicle shows no holds and is waiting carrier. My car was to be delivered 10/13

You are in the clear then. Your vehicle was produced after the affected dates anyways. This should not be a disappointment; you should be happy. 🙂

I contacted my CA this morning and he said it still shows the stop sale on his end. I then called BMW Genius and they said there isn't a stop sale on their end.

LOL the frustrating wait continues...

Called Genius a few days ago and they confirmed the bearing issue for my VIN. After seeing some of the posts today I called and was told there is no longer any bearing (or other) issue currently showing for my VIN. Hopeful that after further investigation my car may have been deemed unaffected.

Texted my CA to ask if she could double confirm for me. Note, I took delivery of my car on 9/10.

My car previously showed up as affected on the UK site. Called Genius today to check on the status and there are no recalls. Hoping it remains that way, unaffected.

GM of the dealership emailed me that my stop sale is no longer shown in their system. Genius also said the same thing. Hopefully taking delivery this week or next

150 Status on 7/29, assigned a VIN. Actual Production Date 8/25. My car was never identified on any site, but I believe if Im reading it correctly, it still falls between the "possible" affected dates. Nothing was solid, because I just took delivery 4 days ago, so the dealer let me take the car home, and I even came back the next day, and they mentioned nothing. So, Im going to venture to say I have nothing to worry about.

Makes me kind of wonder, for the folks who are being told all clear after seeing the issue in UK site, if the genius is checking the same tool in bmwusa site as we all are?

I spoke with senior management at my local dealer this morning. Based on that conversation, it appears that hundreds of cars have been removed from the main bearing recall/delivery stop list in the past few days.

Perhaps BMW changed the UK recall site because it was showing false positives.

We still don't have complete information, but hopefully the sky isn't falling.

I hope so. You will be amazed how "exclusive" we, the enthusiasts, are. I have seen many occasions where the customer service goes to the same resource that we have access to. And they just type in the information that we provide. Lol.

Guys just received confirmation from BMW Australia as well as the DP - car is cleared and should be ready for pick up by the end of the week.

So I guess BMW has narrowed it down to a few vehicles and not like initially thought.

Just got notified by my dealer just now that my G80 has been cleared for release, should get it later this week/early next week. You bloody beauty!

Still feeling for the poor buggers whose cars received a bad set of bearings - hopefully it only turns out to be a very small number of cars worldwide. Good luck to all still waiting...

I've just been told everything on mine has been lifted and it's awaiting transport to the dealership. Fingers crossed everyone else gets good news as well!

Across the pond, UK. Assume it's at Thorn in Doncaster, BMW UK headquarters. Good luck with the transport!

My guess is BMW first said "we know it's on cars from XX/XX to YY/YY so for now let's hold everything in that range up" and then forum enthusiasts found it and freaked out and they had to pull the info off the UK site.

Since then, BMW likely said "okay we can now narrow it down to these specific engines with parts from this supplier" … and even further since then "using these specific parts from this specific batch from this specific supplier".

Modern manufacturing has immense traceability for exactly this reason.

For me, if I'm not listed I have zero worry about this popping up later. Sucks for the people in this thread that panic sold their car and/or canceled delivery of their orders. Others are likely now enjoying their unaffected cars. But, it's a lesson in being overly reactionary to incomplete information.

So after reading this I called my buddy at the dealer and my car is now removed....

This was the recall check on the 12th

This is the recall check today:

Somewhat of an unrelated question, but was not sure if it deserved its own thread.
Who is responsible for assigning a "carrier" from the VPC to the dealer? the dealer, VPC?
Ever since the news broke out about the bearing issue, every time i called Genius they would say my car was pending for a carrier to be assigned and to call my dealer for more info. Now that the stop sale is clear, who arranges transportation?
