How long did it take for you to go from status 112 to 150? (23MY)

For anyone who has a car in 150 or beyond...

Once your car was in 112 - Scheduled for Production, how long was it before you moved to 150 - Production Begins?

EDIT: Anyone feel free to answer but especially those with 23 MY orders so we can see if production is improving at all.

From what I could summarize looking through all the build week threads, once in 112 units typically flip to 150 after 0-2 weeks on average.

I was told production week 38 when I was in 111 but within a couple days flipped to 112. No updated production week (at least yet) so curious as to why they are flipping to 112 so far in advance of the build week unless it is getting pulled ahead.

Seems to be the case for many of us here, flipping to 112 6+ weeks ahead of the production week. Time will tell I guess.

My allocation came in on 8/2 at 112 for a week 36 build. My CA told me this AM (8/4) that it had already flipped to 150 so I called Genius to see if the production week had advanced and they told me it was still scheduled for completion in week 36 which is the first week of September. Not sure what "production" encompasses since it doesn't take a month on a assembly line to build these cars.

Yea, I'm confused as my dealer advised me that a unit in 112 could get pulled to 150 at any point and usually within a couple weeks. It sounds like 150 is really before a unit gets on the actual assembly line, probably gathering/prepping components and based on what others report you usually get onto the assembly line within two weeks of flipping to 150...unless something strange is going on, the averages would say your car would be completed mid-August and mine (wk 38) would be completed week 36.

I guess nothing is "normal" in today's environment so at this point I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Actual vehicle build begins only after the status flips to 151. I believe the components required for the build gets into place at 150.

Yea, based on the timelines others are reporting it seems unusual to go into into 112 more than 4 weeks out from the production week...most are reporting 112 to 150 within 2 weeks and then produced within another two weeks, meaning 112 to actually produced within a month...so with some of us going into 112 but with production weeks that are 8+ weeks out I guess I'm just wondering if production might get pulled forward.

With semi conductor shortages in the past, BMW might have updated their process for MY23 and scheduling the builds earlier so that it isnt messy like MY22. Its just a guess but we should know the answer shortly.

Yup, was thinking that could be a possibility, but of course hoping that we'll see updated earlier build weeks lol. I'll just keep waiting!

Went 112 (for the first time) many many moons ago on January 17th.

My car finally went 150 June 7th.

So yeah , patience is key around here.

Some folks have been waiting weeks or months in QA , some sit at port for months etc.

Even crazier I had put my deposit and placed an order (status 047) in September of 2021 lol.

I've been waiting 335 days for my car and counting.

Talk about patience! I'm two months behind you and third time in 112 but both times prior my production week was within a month...just getting anxious

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but a lot of what’s been written on this thread thus far is incorrect, or pure rumor with the exception of what Vj123 shared with you. The cold truth is that for the my23’s nobody knows and won’t know until your cars start getting built and a pattern is established. The last two years have been a hot mess, from chip shortages, to modules, QC purgatory and shipping delays. Whether it’s been fixed nobody knows. Having said that let me offer this bit of advice; you don’t have to create the wheel yourselves! Start reading the build week threads (2-4) prior to yours and you’ll get a sense of the timelines and what you can expect. The world is crazy right now and $hit can happen to upset progress on your build so the best you can do is keep hope alive and know BMW wants you to get your cars, it’s the only way they get paid!

All I've been doing is reading through build week threads lol. Not sure what specifically you are referring to as incorrect/rumors, but at least can say anything I have shared is just summarizing what others have been reporting in the build week threads for 23MY's, but regardless the reason for the poll is to identify the patterns, gain clarity on timelines, and maybe get a larger sample size…especially considering there are some people don't post but might answer a poll. If nothing else, just hoping to save some of us time from digging through 15 different build week threads.

Given all the production delays some of us have experienced when we were waiting for 22MY production, frankly I'm a little shocked at how fast the most recent build week threads are saying 23MY allocations have been moving. Quite a few of us who have allocations right now are also a bit perplexed at how far out production is being scheduled so this is both a reality and sanity check for some us.

That's awesome that you have both so close together. Will be interesting to see how they progress comparatively. Did you order both through the same dealer?

I was notified on 7/28 that mine was a 112 and that status hasn't changed for me yet here on 8/6. I was never notified of a 047 to 111 status change. It went from 047 to 112 as far as how I was notified.

When I called the BMW Genius recently, they told me week 35.
