It's real. Saw them at an M track day. I will only say the colors are great in person, the back and side are excellent in person.

The front is bad, but not as bad as the pics or the regular 4.

Shame, the M8 is so good looking

Even if it is acceptable to many of you people, how can you justify the price for a car that is only "more or less beautiful"?

This is unacceptable BMW. Please fire the designer.

The E30/E36/E46/E9x/F8x generations were all huge leaps in design language from each other and yet still remained (and still do remain) beautiful until I logged on today to see the legacy of pretty ///M cars completely obliterated by this abomination.

I think the IOM green M3 looks great. Don't buy it if the design offends you. I plan to check it out in person of course, but glad to see these actual pics. I especially look forward to pics of the interior of the M3. The M4 interior shown is designed well but the colors are too bizarre for me.

I'm not a huge fan of the 3 series in general in terms of handling, I'm sure the g80 out handles my f32 but the 4 series, better yet the M2 is the preferred platform for handling and driving purists.

I'd imagine the M4 to have marginally better handling and minor weight savings over the M3 but the M2 to be materially better than both per usual.
I have a feeling the G M2 is going to be phenomenal. The G 3 series feels like what the F 3 series should have been. It feels more like a proper, modern version of the E series cars.

One disappointment is the plastic arch extensions on the M3. It's never needed them before, unlike the QV.

Is it now required because they haven't pumped out the rear arches enough to meet regs requiring the fender to fully cover the tyre? The F80 does appear wider to my eyes.
No, this is just BMW complying to new regulations. While the rear arches are not as pronounced as that on the f80, they are still widened compared to that of the base G20. Even the 2021 M2Cs are being shipped with these black arch pieces and its front and rear flares are wide.

The design of the G80 looks mighty, loving the fender flares and design lines! Am I the only one that doesn't mind the grille? It looks unique and super aggressive IMO.

It's not a classical beauty but I'm a fan. I think the G80 looks better than the G82, though.

I think once people see these on the road and modded (lowered with spacers or more aggressive offset wheels) they'll come around to it more. It's most likely going to blow the doors off the F8x, especially in a straight line (if that's your thing, I don't really care about that). F8x values will also not reverse and start to appreciate... it'll still be the older, NA cars whose value will slowly continue to rise.

I mean, if one is looking for a new, manual performance sedan this is pretty much it. If you don't want a manual, it's definitely a tougher sell since you can go to pretty much any other marque and find an AWD + 8AT performance car these days.

For me, my next car candidates are manual G80, Tesla Model 3 Performance or back to Porsche if I can make it work again.

Something other than the grill...

1. I think I'm in the minority to say that the wheel design is poor; too busy and bulky looking - ugly IMHO.

2. Hate the tacked on black plastic pieces on the sides of the front and rear bars, and the side skirts. Hopefully easily replaced with tasteful aftermarket ones.

BTW, I think a power-domed CS could possibly 'fix' the front of the M3.

I can't believe how a mere five days ago, many folks hated both cars with the grille and all .... I'm glad people don't change their minds much

M3 colour looking nice. BMW should have really kept the rear fender flares to differentiate between the m340i.

M4 looks just too long. It has grown to be a boat. Would be interested to see it next to M6. M2 coupe proportions are where it’s at!
