Voodoo instead of Portimao?

Thinking voodoo blue for my M3 color instead of Portimao.
Only seen it online and in a few Google searches. Are there any images of estoril Portimao and voodoo blue in same light to compare?
Is it possible to get a sample paint chip from bmw to compare in person?

There is a good youtube vid of a voodoo M5 in the sunlight if you haven't seen it. I inquired about paint samples and was told no. YOu seem to just have to hope for the best with these custom colors if you aren't fortunate enough to be able to see one in person.

Well that sucks. This would be my first individual color ever. You would think that you could at least order a color sample. Heck I would pay for a color sample to be able to feel confident in my choice. I mean it too. It's worth easily up to $100 even non refundable to get a swatch. Lol
I did see the m5 video. It's actually what made me interested in the color in the first place.

I agree with all of the above. It's my first custom color as well. What did they tell you about how much extra time to add for the special paint? If I'm going to spend $4,500 on the color I would spend a little bit extra to make sure it's the right color. It's a bit frustrating as I've discovered that BMW color is often look very different in pictures versus in person, or maybe that's car colors in general.

Voodoo blue is my 2nd favorite blue after Yas Marina Blue. It is VERY bright even in the dark on a highway.

IMO (and my opinion alone), portimao blue is a total bust. It is just a dark blue. Nothing special about it and it doesn't belong on an M.

Voodoo Blue is incredible.

Agree. PB is a nice color and all, but too close to Estoril for me and Estoril has been on 3/4's for years now.

Voodoo was in the top few on my list, but debated that it might be a little too electric blue for me and thus decided with the (I think?) slightly toned down Enzian. It's really all a best educated guess unless you are lucky enough to see them in person somehow.

I am trying to find multiple photos which have Voodoo blue cars next to a color I know like estoril or yas marina. At least I can then make a guess and color correct in my Head.

I really like voodoo on the photos I have seen.

Voodoo is a Porsche color, isn't it? Maybe you can get lucky and find a Porsche dealer that has a voodoo blue in stock.
I ordered Nardo for my F80 and it is a very good match to Audi Nardo

You have a build date? My Fire Orange goes into production ~April 19th.

You're gonna have to take some kind of leap of faith here. It's a far better color than Portimao. If you can pay $5k, it's an easy decision.

It's not the cost. It's my art school background surfacing about it.
I would just like to see it but I'm probably just going to take a leap like you said and do it anyways.
It's just sucky that it's this difficult to see something as simple as a paint swatch. Lol.

You'd think that before you gave a company $4500 they'd let you know what you were getting.

No kidding right? I would pay easily a couple hundred for the ability to "rent" a paint swatch of the colors I was deciding on.
I mean they get more $$ out of it that way. How many of the cars are individual paint?

Have you ever seen in person a Toyota FJ Cruiser in that vibrant blue launch color? That's Voodoo Blue.

On Instagram, look up @danny_g_m5 he has a Voodoo Blue. I've seen it in person when we did an individual shoot. It's beautiful

Their pictures are horrible. Voodoo is slightly darker, but much more rich than YMB. It is also much brighter than PB. It is a fantastic color in person and there are plenty of pictures online if you search for Porsche instead of BMW.

Oh wow! I really like that. It looks over saturated but really pops.
Btw. I'm very not into "subdued" colors. I figure this is my first M and I like attention.

Now If only AWD allocations open up I would be happy.
I'm patiently (barely) waiting on the list at one dealer and already bugged a few places asking if they had dates or guesses when AWD could be ordered.

It's unedited iPhone, but that parking deck floor did weird things to the shading
