The new design look is getting better and better the more we see the car but the only thing I still can't stand is the rear brake calipers. No doubt it functions as expected but it doesn't match the quality and the attention to detail that we all expect from M cars.

Beautiful color but can't say I'm a fan of this generation of M Performance parts. Only thing I will probably purchase is the steering wheel.

So I had a 350Z with a similar style body kit.
What irked me was that the rear lip never really lined up visually to the side skirt. I mean, it didn't bother me too much obviously since I kept the kit on my car for like 10 years but I think it would drive me nuts if I got a brand new car like that.

This is the best collection of photos of current M Performance and M cars to date. Blows the BMW stock photos out of the water. Thanks for posting!

And I can't understand how people aren't drooling over it so here we are. The definition of "subjective" opinion in every sense of the word. To each his own.

This part is always so weird. Bmw just can't make it evenly on its ground clearance?

Detailed shots of parts

Besides the entire BMW option list, incl. the Display Key, my dealer put on a bunch of MP stuff on my car as well. So I took some photos of the MP CF this afternoon of my G82 in BG while being wet & dirty. The side gills should have been part of BMW's carbon pack. Deliberately left out cause they know a lot of us will want and buy them anyhow...
I guess with the width that the skirts add to the car, spacers look better but I'll just leave it as is and consider the wider skirts extra protection against rock chips. BTW, BG is probably one of the best base colors for CF.
Stepping out of the bucket seats you have to watch not to kick the skirts, they are pretty wide.
Sadly I'm not having the splitter (yet) but they did install the MP matte carbon steering wheel trim and the matching paddle shifters. Doesn't match the glossy BMW carbon trim, kind of a strange choice to me at first. The paddles seem also smaller and lack the tactile red stuff on the back, I don't quite get them.
The matte carbon looks and feels really good though and after 3 weeks it makes me contemplate changing the rest of the trim too. Matte materials create a more relaxed interior IMO.

The gills would have been much cooler if they were actually functioning with a hole for airflow in them.

Yep, the stock car is already very busy and in your face. really no need to add anything else.

Also, are G80 owners going to PPF the carbon/black parts all around the car. Seems to me like these parts will get nasty after a few years...

Usually performance parts make m cars look nicer. For me this really cheapens the look. The gills are absurd and the wing is absurd. Not to mention the exhaust. These parts look like they were designed by the fast and the furious team.

I'll be sticking with stock 6MT.

Frankiebones, didn't know you had the FO coming. Was it you that initially got your request denied for it? I know someone got turned down for it. Was it a sedan? Just can't remember.

How do the rear brake calipers show a lack of quality or attention to detail? You admitted that they undoubtedly function as expected, so where do those other two points factor in here?

Let's say everyone has their own perspective. Again the performance and functionality aside if you think the peanut size rear brakes compliment this M car and match the high end price tag, so be it. If I am paying 75K+ for enhanced design engineered by BMW M, it better be standing out from every angle. Or maybe I am just spoiled with my CCB's. LOL.
