Buying a brand new $100k "bare-bones 911" defeats the purpose of buying a 911.
The idea of buying a new Porsche is to make it YOURS, unique, with all the options you want and the exclusive manufakturer stuff. And Stuttgart has some fancy stuff in the drawer, like the lights, PASM, and bits of design here and there that really makes a 911 stand out. Also, regarding perf, the S and the GTS are way better and I don't see why someone should even bother looking at the base engine spec tbh. At the end of the day, a nice 911 "made for you" will be in the $140-$160k range MSRP. That's the real price. a fully loaded M4 is not even close in terms of price hence it's a true bargain in terms of performance, ride and quality. |

The base 911 is an automatic. They will grab first time buyers and Starbucks crowd. The true 911 enthusiast will spec a 911 S. You get option of the manual. The 911 S most would buy is at $135K+ at an absolute minimum. I'm beyond thrilled about getting my G80 pure in May. They made the car more luxurious and improved the performance. And my most unpopular reason… Love the design their is ZERO question when you see an M3 you're not confusing it for any other BMW. |

Agree with most of the replies. The M3 is a relative bargain. I currently have a 991.2 911 and an M340 xdrive. Have upgrade orders on both. I’m getting a ton of awesome features on my ordered M3 comp xdrive and the sticker is under 84k. My ordered 992 S cab has some cool options but is no where near the options of my ordered M3. I’m pushing 150k on the ordered 911. That being said I’m sure the M3 will be faster in a straight line by far (auto vs manual). However the 911 driving experience is truly second to non.
