Even though I have an FOP badge and probably wouldn't be ticketed, I really don't want to be pulled over for not having a front license plate in NY (gonna be tinted too and it just takes a cop who's having a bad day or who needs to meet a quota to ruin mine).

i can't get the Carbonio because Im getting the active cruise control, and not loving the tow mounts or sto n sho looks, so i was just wondering what a US license plate looks like on the front of the G80, preferably a black sapphire but I'll take anything.

thanks, I've actually already gone through that thread but there is only one photo of the stock mount and it doesn't have a license plate on it so i can't really get a feel for how it looks. also it's kind of a closeup. but i appreciate it.

I know you mentioned you checked out the thread but did you see this post? You did mention you don't like the tow hook but it might be your best option for now.

yes i did, thank you. yes, it may be the best option for now. i just don't love the asymmetry.

That sucks... that's what I was afraid was going to happen. Thanks for letting me know about your experience. Gotta say, it doesn't look that bad, if your local government makes you do it.

They're so concerned with your front plate, yet crime is so high in the city right now. Good to know their priorities are straight lol

Hold that thought. If one was so dismissive of the law to run without a front plate, don't you think there's a good chance the trunk was loaded with guns and molotov cocktails? Of course, NYC will put you back on the streets in 30 seconds after such minor infractions, so that explains the 3 tickets in 5 days.

just like illinois, tons of cars no front plates, they only pull over the nice ones or the ones that stick out (haven't gotten pulled over in my X3M yet in 2 years).

I understand sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do, but when it comes to the stock U.S. front license plate orientation on the new M3/M4....damn!

Looks like I'll be buying a tow hitch mount for the front plate before I even pick up my new car since there's no way I'll ever mount that stock setup....

How are you liking your Sport seats? Soft enough, or too hard?

Do the Sport seats give you enough lateral support in your thighs when driving aggressively? I have 18-way seats in my Macan, so I'm used to a lot of lateral support.

Did you get the chance to try out the carbon buckets before making your decision on which type of seat to get? If so, why didn't you opt for the carbon buckets?

I'm still on the fence which seats I want with my pending daily driven M3, and I can't find any dealerships in my area that have them on display.

I never tried or saw the buckets in person.

I'm 39, and had zero interest in climbing in and out every time.

The sport seats are extremely comfortable, have more than enough thigh and back bolster, not to mention the back is adjustable.

Are they as supportive as the buckets, of course not, but I don't track and even if I did, it would be like twice a year….comfort is wayyyyy more important to me, especially since I drive on NH and MA roads that leave much to be desired.

I will have to run a front plate. Honestly I don't see what the big deal is. Yeah breaks the looks a little, but why get pulled over or get tickets for something so easily avoidable. The asymmetry of all the 'solutions' really bugs me, I'll just stick with the stock mount. Why give them an excuse to pull me over for no reason?
