Can agree with that, I was waiting for an allocation in the order bank since January so I was stoked I'd be getting a 22, but 7 months later... I finally got an allocation and they stuck me with a 23. I gotta get used to it and be happy I even got an allocation I guess.

Not all that happy though with the stuck on display, the xdrive badge, and lack of badging on the center instrument cluster.
I've got a manual on order so don't have the badges anyway but yeah the screen is just going to have to be an adjustment. The rest of the car is too amazing to let the ID8 spoil it

Agree, I can learn to get comfortable with the id8, with how amazing the rest of the car is, screen itself looks nice atleast. Just would have been better with some better integration but oh well!

I really want to see a pov drive review with the id8, to see how it behaves and looks from a drivers perspective. No videos on those yet right? These all seem to be stationary shots

Absolutely agreed! Sadly the closest I've seen was them sitting behind the wheel, but no driving pov's yet!

I really want to see a POV driving vid as well. I want to see if my assumptions on glare are correct or if the curve on the screen negates anticipated glare. Also wanna see how the UI is overall for an m car compared to a regular bmw or electric

Plenty of i4M50 pov vids. Can't imagine it is much different. This one is day and night.

Contrary to popular belief. I like the ID8 but it does have its ups and downs.

I believe the center screen is MUCH improved, it's larger and better tech (arguably)

However, the cockpit screen, I like it's size and such but I really don't like how it's not pushed back with the overhang. That's my only gripe with it since it makes it look and feel less aggressive and less like a sports car.

But it was the opposite opinion for me on ID7, guess we can't have the best of both worlds. It's alright

I love the size of the screen, but I just wish there was more effort to integrate it with the rest of the design language of the car. You have this very aggressive styling, and then the dash is very 'boring luxury' looking.

My initial reaction to the screen and everything was pretty negative largely due to the styling, but the more I consider the functionality and the massive upgrade I am about to have, I am actually excited for it. My BRZ is the most spartan interior of any car I've ever driven; no steering wheel controls, garbage BT integration, no android auto/carplay, and an absolutely heinous resistive-touch head unit. Going to feel like piloting a spaceship

It is different, it has m specific color scheme(red/blue gauges) and the widgets look different on the big screen.

Absolutely agreed!

I'll be happy once mine comes in and I'll get used to it. The car is too amazing not to!

I agree. Despite everyone hating on the unintegrated iDrive 8 screen and the lack of a formal "instrument binnacle" there is just something "future" about that iD8 giant central screen when running the map, or even the widgets. It just looks more advanced.

Compare it to the small 10.5" iD7 central display running the "Quadrant" tile scheme we've seen since it was introduced in Fall '18 on the 2019 X5. Night and day tech difference.

iDrive 8 is a way bigger tech leap that we saw going from iD6 to iD7. That's what will date all the iD7 cars the most.

It is slowly growing on me.
Yes I agree BMW could of done a better job in terms of integration but this new screen will likely make the the previous idrive look slightly dated once everyone gets used to it

Like molasses. The color, clarity, and resolution is quite starkly better than ID7, I will give it that.

Frozen Black, no Xdrive badge. I've noticed a few of these cars don't have the xdrive badge, any guesses as to why?

It's a RWD Comp, not an xDrive?

Good point, may very well be. I've been so fixated on the Xdrive I forgot about the rear wheel drive comp. LoL!
