bmw my24 m3
Anyone know if I could ask my dealer for a earlier production date on my m3 I believe I am week 32 for my build and I am the most impatient person for this 😂 . Also my car is on order recieved and has not been moved to scheduled for production. Is this normal?

As to production week, no. You kinda just get what you get. I don't even think the dealership has a say in it. You can move up or down. For example, I was scheduled for week 24, but my car ended up being done in week 22. On the flip side I've seen people get pushed back 3-4 weeks for unknown reasons. There's nothing anyone can do to cause either outcome, nor know ahead of time if you'll get pushed forward or back (or stay on schedule).
As to order received status, that's normal. You'll probably stick on that stage for another month or two, seeing as your scheduled build is about 10 weeks out For example, I got "scheduled for production" on May 9th, moved to "production begins" May 12th, then finally started moving along the production stages on May 30th. Currently sitting at the port waiting for a ship to bring it to me. I placed the order itself early April. Now keep in mind, everyone's experience WILL vary. Some guys had to wait months or even over a year and saw multiple delays for reasons unknown to anyone, some with more expensive options, others more "barebones", with no reasons why one was delayed and the other wasn't. In my case I was the opposite, my salesman said he's never seen an order get accepted so quickly, and then built so fast before. Especially for a car that was fully loaded (I basically ticked every damn box lmao). Also note, I ordered an M4 Comp xDrive. People have said for whatever reason the M3s take longer and seem to run into more issues with things being on schedule or speed as a whole Hope this helps!! |

I believe VIR (order confirmation summary from your dealer) used to have "requested production week" and "assigned production week". Dealers could request an early production week but its highly unlikely that it gets approved.
Below thread would give you an idea of the realistic timeline with actual dates for each order status and it takes a while to move to status 150. https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1948459 |

Yes, write a firmly worded letter to your dealership GM explaining how impatient you are and why you deserve to have your car built earlier than the hundreds of other people who were on line before you.

Unfortunately you’re gonna be in for a bit of a wait.
Week 32 is early/mid august plus the added wait times at port and then shipping I’d say you would be looking at a late September to October delivery. Maybe even later than that depending on what ships are going to west cost at the time. That’s not even accounting for any delays that could occur in production. |
