2024 M4 Comp X question

Anyone have any info on the potential 2024 M4 refresh? My 2023 Individual British Racing Green M4 Comp got stolen at gun point from BMW NYC the day before I was supposed to pick it up…. Ordered a new 2024 with same specs…. But just heard there are “possible updates” other than just Idrive 8.0….

Bro it was the WORST!!! After 12 months of waiting… it crushed me! Total inside job!!! Not sure what my build week is. I emailed the CEO and he wrote me back immediately…. he got me an allocation that day and the VERY next day order was received by the factory. I guess I have to call the genius for my build week?

There's no 2024 model year refresh. Just normal (more or less) changes between model years (2024 m4 is getting ID8). The refresh (LCI) is in March 2024, for the 2025 model year presumably.

LCI = Life Cycle Impulse (refresh)
SOP = Start of Production
EOP = End of Production

I immediately email Sebastian (NA BMW CEO) just see if he’d “listen to my story”. Wrote a well crafted email and he immediately called me back! Had my purchase history and all! Got me an allocation THAT day and marked it “superior priority”. He told me to keep calling the Genius to track it and give him updates. Well, I just called and it looks like car is scheduled for production week 2 April!!! That’s almost 9 months quicker than my stolen car! And I’m sure the dealership, who I have bought many cars from, will hook me up!

That's a great result, and I'm sure will make a lot of people happy to hear (of course yourself)! Glad they provided some serious service recovery even though it wasn't their fault.

Damn! What service . I'd keep buying a BMW just based on that.

I emailed him a couple times when my car was stuck in QC for 4+ months. I never heard from him personally, but a manager from customer relations got in touch with me and while they were unable to get my car to me, they definitely took care of me in the end. I think it definitely helps to have a 20 year history with them (and 4 previous M cars in the last 8 years).

Nice that BMW has the bandwidth to help with a circumstance like this one and get a replacement car moving quickly. Glad you should get a replacement car in a reasonable amount of time.

Here is a similar circumstance (sort of) from the past: I sold a guy a Chev Avalanche back in 2002. The transport driver had it on the top deck on the very back of his truck and evidently did not strap/chain it down correctly, long story short it fell off the top back deck of his truck on I-94 west of Minneapolis (near Avon, MN) and tumbled end over end in the ditch between the lanes. It took GM two weeks to produce and deliver a replacement vehicle to the store for the customer. Can't recall seeing that particular transport driver deliver any cars after that incident.

Ugh, what a horrible thing to happen and good on BMW for making it right. The only other change that I have not seen mentioned is the 50th anniversary colored roundels. I think the April start date puts you just outside the windows. I hope the next one gets delivered hassle free!

I will not have the 50th Ann. roundels. Have to get em off IND, but I’m ok with it…
