Missing Sirius XM resolution?
Has anyone who did not get the Sirius XM upon delivery received a resolution yet?
My dealer was supposed to get back to me on it but he has failed. |

An SIB was just released for this issue. Essentially a lot of G8x vehicles left the factory with the wrong satellite radio option code. The fix is to program the vehicle and retrofit the new satellite radio option (the one the car should have originally had) and then you should be good to go.

xm fix
I have this issue with my new M4 Comp. No XM option showing. Do you know what the fix is? Can you tell me your dealer so I can let mine know there is a fix and they can contact them? Thanks a lot!

Thanks. My dealer says they have the info so will update tomorrow--and fix the 12v front power port that is dead. Apparently, another known issue. Just started getting them, and if these are the only problems, I'll be happy.

Isn't any. Dealer was on the phone with BMW US, and 'they' took control of the car for the download. Showed ok on Media, but the signal to refresh wasn't sent--or received. Got home, called--they did the refresh, and 10 minutes later XM was up. PITA, and took 3 hours, but got it resolved.

I got the car back from service today with the Sirius issue fixed. According to the service invoice, it was "recall for sat tuner R3 si 650421 defect code 85100316bv"

Update: My Sirius radio stopped working again two days after the fix (see above post). I had the channel list but no audio.
That is a known issue, and the solution is to call (or go on web) Sirius and have them send a refresh signal. No dealer visit needed. If it (the refresh) doesn't work, use the other method (i.e. VIN instead of radio ID, or vice-versa). Radio ID worked for me.
