Trying to purchase New M4 from dealer - has Open Recall

I found a m4 Convertible that I would like to purchase from a dealer. The car is stuck at baltimore since December 5th. The defect code is 0084860100 "Program Telematics Control Unit (ATM)". I called genius and they do not have a timeline.

Anyone else have this code and how long did it take to get it fixed? I am hoping that if it has been sitting at the port since December 5th, this car would be getting close to being finished, but want to see if anyone else had experience with this specific recall.

I just want to avoid putting a deposit down on the car and not being able to get the car for another 6 months, because it keeps sitting at the port. Most other cars I found are just going in to production and this one is already in the States, so hoping this one is closer to getting to the dealer then all others I see.

Thank you for the input.

This is a weird holdup. I took delivery of my G83 in October. This recall came up after I picked it up. When I went in for the break in service, they took care of this too. It only took a few hours for all of it.

This is only software (at least it was on mine), so I don't understand why it's taking so long.

Yea, that's what I thought. I was surprised to hear from Genius that the car arrived at the port in Baltimore on December 5th.

I will give them a call tomorrow and see if I can speak to a different rep and see if they can give me a bit more details.

It's probably been sitting bc it's not a priority 1 car (not sold to a customer), and the focus has been on moving priority 1 cars.

That makes sense. I guess after I put a deposit on it, it should jump to being priority 1 and get done quickly. Hopefully.

Good luck! You'll love it once you get it. What are the specs?

It won't be 6 months but it also won't be soon. No one knows for sure I've had the same work order since 11/29 and no signs of movement.
