Everyone covered everything above but I'll just add that the front of the G80 responds very well to lowering from an aesthetics standpoint, in my opinion. Makes it look more sleek and not too bulky if you know what I mean.
Mine is dropped on KW HAS. If I had to guess I'd say I dropped it 1 inch all around. I did not take measurements, but it's pretty much setup at the lowest recommended front setting and the highest rear setting. [img]https://i.ibb.co/KWkY3Qj/20211226-121328.jpg[/img]

I think all the good members here actually gave you reasons to lower vs not lowering (as you had asked) LOL.... that says alot. Plus they are all owners of the car with real pictures too.

The main reason I asked the question was more related to wondering if lowering compromises the intent of the suspension system. That said, you're right, speed bumps, pot holes, breaks in pavement would be a problem if the car is to low. |

If you are worried about ride quality- I have not felt or seen any degradation in my adjustments. BMW got the damper setup down here; now my opine is just that but its facts owning the car and not driving it for a week or more as I have other rides, then getting in and driving the same roads and completely forgetting it is dropped. Now the Verstappen's of the world will chime in as Ive said but in reality you will be just fine. The only reason I can see for not lowering is if you you live in pot hole hell and speed bump purgatory.

We do have crappy roads, speed bumps not really an issue. I'll do a little more thinking. |

Here is what my car looks like with spacers only. It’s not lowered yet. 15 mm in the front and 12 mm in the back. I plan on lowering my car I just have not made up my mind what kit to use yet. Plus I’m in the middle of spending a bloody fortune on other mods right now.

lowering doesn't necessarily mean reduced performance (at least on well paved surfaces). of course if you slam it to the bump stops you will not be running optimal suspension setup. With HAS you can fine tune the weight balance which allows you to corner weight (if you want to go into all that level of detail).
I plan to install the MSS kit in the spring. I'm in NJ and the roads aren't like in Cali so I won't be going as low as Vic |

Not sure I’ve seen it mentioned. But if you lower the car too much, you throw off the geometry of the car’s suspension. Meaning your camber, toe and caster could be out of whack and you could make your handling worse than stock.
Not many people go to these lengths, but if you plan on lowering your car significantly you should at least consider adding adjustable arms to adjust toe and camber.
